AMANA - ADB3500

by AMY
(Schuylerville,N.Y./U.S.A.)

My AMANA Dishwasher is a great machine that I would recommend to anyone who wants save money, time and still get super clean dishes. My AMANA is very quiet and works like a charm. I do about two loads of dishes in it a day and I have had it for a little more that 3 years. I found my dishwasher in a new paper ad for used appliances.

It only cost me seventy-five dollars and it was only a year old when I got it. The couple I bought it from said it cost two hundred dollars brand new but they were moving and their new house had a built in unit already.

My AMANA is really good at getting my dishes sparkling clean. It usually take about twenty minutes to complete its cycle and the dishes are steaming hot then takes about another ten minutes before completely dry. This dish washer an energy saving unit that had two cycles to choose from. There is a low energy setting for regular use and a higher pot/pan cycle that blasts all food off of your dishes.

It is a bit louder when on the higher powered setting but its hardly noticeable. I have never had any issues with water leaks or bubble overs like I had with my older dish washer that use to sound like a helicopter getting ready for take-off.I usually use Cascade powdered dish washing detergent but I have used other brands and my dishes are always clean.

This machine has been a great time saving appliance as a well as a great money saver. When I switched out my old dish washer for this newer Amana model my electric bill dropped by thirty dollars a month. I would definitely recommend the Amana Dishwasher to all my family and friends.

Pretty easy to run
by: Anonymous

I had a really bad dishwasher before getting this model from Amana. You know the drill: it leaked, was extremely loud and did not completely wash all the dishes completely. While I have yet to find a perfect dishwasher (it just seems to me that the one I had growing up was perfect and have not been able to find a similar one as an adult), I have found something that I think that I will be using for a long time.

This dishwasher is pretty intuitive to run. I do not know when this started, but for whatever reason it seems that most dishwashers these days need a manual to run and are not easy to figure out. I realize that sounds stupid, but there are so many options and so many features that a large button that says start is appreciated. This one is pretty easy to figure out what is going on.

The other big problem that I have had is that the kid’s room is really close to the kitchen. That means that if the dishwasher is not completely quite he wakes me and my wife up in the middle of the night. I paid extra to make sure that everything was as quiet as possible. When I was talking to the salesperson it seemed like he was putting one over on me, but I feel that there’s enough of a noticeable difference that it merits the upgrade over lesser models.

As for cleanliness, this dishwasher gets dishes clean. Every so often I find a glass that does not get as clean as I would like it, but for the most part everything works fine. Plates and dishes survive in this dishwasher, and I have yet to find anything that is chipped. I make sure to turn the hot water on in the sink first, this gets the water in the dishwater hotter quicker. When I do this then I have no complaints.
