SHU66C05 Stainless Steel Built in Dishwasher

If you are looking for a new dishwasher then you might consider the Bosch dishwasher. This unit has many different pros and cons which may make it the perfect solution for your dishwashing needs.

SHU66C05 Bosch Built in Dishwasher Dishwasher Pros

Is you are sick and tired of the noise from your current dishwasher because you cannot hear a thing while you are running a load then you might like this model.

This dishwasher runs so quietly that it is hard to tell a load of dishes is being cleaned. You can now wash dishes while you do other things in your home without the worries of the noise bothering you.

This is one of the best features of this dishwasher.

Style

The Bosch dishwasher looks excellent in your kitchen with the rest of your appliances.

You can enjoy the sleek look that will match any kitchen cabinetry. You will want all of the matching appliances to go with the dishwasher because it looks so nice in your kitchen.

The stainless steel gives your kitchen an entire new look of total class.

Convenient to Unload

Another benefit to this dishwasher is that there is not a heating element. This means you don’t have to worry about the unit getting so incredibly hot it melts plastic ware and Tupperware.

Your pots and pans won’t be too hot to the touch when you lift them out of the rack directly after a wash completes. Some dishwasher heating elements get so hot that you can burn yourself if you pull the dishes out too soon after a cycle completes.

Although the lack of a heating element is a positive factor because your plastics won’t be melted there is also a downside to this feature too.

The dishes don’t get all the way dry after the dishwasher runs a complete cycle. Many customers find themselves having to towel dry the dishes before they put them away.

If you don’t get to your load of dishes to towel dry them and the dishes do eventually dry in the dishwasher then they will be covered in spots. The spots won’t be due to hard water but instead because the dishes were wet.

The trays in this dishwasher are removable which make it convenient for you to wash oversized items like big pots.

This is an excellent feature for the large kitchen pots and pans. However, the setup of the trays in the dishwasher doesn’t allow for you to stack a lot of dishes inside of it, which makes for smaller loads.

Stacking dishes in the racks is awkward also and not what you normally expect in a dishwasher.

SHU66C05 Bosch Built in Dishwasher Cons

The Bosch dishwasher also doesn’t work well with a tankless water heater.

It is known as an energy saver because of the low amount of water that it uses. However, because of the low amount of water used, a tankless water heater doesn’t kick on so your dishes will be washed with cold water.

In order to get the hot water to flow with the dishwasher then you must run another appliance in the home that uses hot water. This defeats the purpose of saving water and energy when you have to do this.

If you want your dishes completely clean then you must rinse them really well before you put them in the dishwasher.

This dishwasher doesn’t have the extremely powerful jets that other dishwashers do so it cannot get to heavy dirt and grime sufficiently.

Many dishwashers often fail to drain. It happens with all dishwashers every once in a while.

A good thing about the Bosch is that it doesn’t overflow all over your kitchen floor when this happens. The dishwasher is deep enough that it will hold the water and not spill all over the floor.

The silverware basket on this unit is a little small and isn’t the best solution when you have a large amount of silverware to wash.

If you have big dinner parties then you will find that all of the dishes will fit in but you will be hand washing the pots and pans. This dishwasher is ideal for a single person or for small families.

Final Thought

There are many pros and cons of the Bosch dishwasher you might want to consider if you are thinking about buying a new unit. It washes dishes fantastically if you rinse them first.

It is perfect for the smaller families or for a single person. If you are purchasing the unit for the energy saving capabilities then you should consider a different unit because this one isn’t powerful enough to kick on the hot water heater, which will cause cold water cycles to run.
