Bosch Dishwasher SHE45M06UC

by Emmett
(Sayville)

I purchased this dishwasher from Lowes store because it was on sale and I had a store credit. It was more money then I was planning on spending but I felt that it was a better dishwasher then the Whirlpool, which was my second choice.

This machine has an all stainless steel interior which looks real nice. Additionally there is an Opti-Clean dirt sensor which automatically adjusts the amount of time the dishwasher runs its cycle for.

This machine is very quiet when running and is energy efficient. Because this machine does not have any exposed eater coils you can safely place your plastic bowls and plastic cooking utensils anywhere in the machine without worry. This dishwasher has an enclosed heater and the water is forced through it making the entire interior of the dishwasher the same temperature, so no melted plastic storage containers!

The drying time does take a little longer than most dishwashers because of the heating element being enclosed. This I do not find to be a deterrent as I only need to run my dishwasher once a day, but If you have a large family and need to do multiple dishwashing cycles a day I could see this as being a set back.

The installation of this dishwasher was no problem. The dishwasher goes right down to the floor so it has molded channels to allow the tubing of the water and power lines.

This dishes come out spotless and dry which is ultimately what you buy a dishwasher for. This dishwasher does the job completely and I would highly recommend it to anybody who is in the market for a new dishwasher.

Stinky Bosch dishwasher
by: Anonymous

We got a brand new Bosch dishwasher about 3 months ago, works great, but had a terrible stink on the inside. I know the dishwasher drain was installed correctly, so that wasn't going to be the problem.

On advice found on the Internet, I ran the empty dishwasher through several cleaning cycles using white vinegar. I started a normal wash cycle with the washer empty and about 1 minute into the cycle I poured about 1 letre of vinegar into the dishwasher. I did this 4 times, in between normal dish loads, and sure enough the stink has gone!

It's been a month now and there is no sign of that terrible stink.

It's too bad that Bosch would allow its products to go out having this problem, but I'm glad that I was able to resolve the problem because it is a great dishwasher, soooo quiet !!

never had problems
by: Anonymous

I've owned this machine for over two years and have never had a problem. It's quiet and gets the dishes clean. The adjustable racks and folding tines make it easy to load tall or oddly-shaped items that I previously had to wash by hand. I use the automatic setting most of the time, as it senses how dirty the dishes are and adjusts cycle time accordingly. (Great energy-saving feature!)

It's important you understand "condensation drying" before purchasing; follow the manufacturer's instructions; use only the recommended products. If you don't open the dishwasher door slightly after cycle completes, there may be a bit of water on tops of cups and glasses, but no more than any other dishwasher. Very quiet; doesn't disturb conversations, TV or sleep. Very happy with this product.

Control panel fell apart
by: Anonymous

The control panel is also the pull handle for the door to open. It just fell apart with all the buttons breaking off and the keeper tabs broken at the insertion points. Very frustrated with this expensive appliance. Can't find a recall, but this can't be the first time or only one this has happened to. I was leary in the beginning that this was going to hold up. Should have gone with a Kitchen Aid.

Good but it stinks
by: Anonymous

My dishwasher cleans very well and it is exceptionally quiet. However; it smells very very bad!!! No matter what diswasher detergent you use it always smells the same. I even complained to Bosch about it to no avail. Because of this I would never recommend this product to anyone. The smell is AWFUL

Stinky Bosch dishwasher
by: Anonymous

evil odor always in dishwasher after cycle.
What's up. I love the quietness and stainless liner, but after running the dishwasher stinks. No difference with different detergents and sheeting agents. It appears the drain loop is functioning.
Any suggestions?

This Bosch is the quietest dishwasher ever built. You almost can't hear it run in the same room. However, the accolades stop there.

The Bosch SHE45M does not clean dishware and silverware consistently. Each wash cycle takes 1/3 more time to complete than other dishwashers I have tried and there is a peculiar "odor" when you open the door after each cycle. I have tried different soaps and the odor persists.

I have checked the food trap for scraps for the odor source and could not find evidence of left over food. I suspect the odor is in the metal lining of the unit. Bosch needs to stay in the tool business, not the appliance business.
