Advantages

The various features make the Bosch SHE43P12UC an ideal dishwasher for the family. The unit allows for quick washing, finishing each load within thirty minutes or less. One of its most outstanding features include the quietness during operation as ensured by the presence of two pumps that minimize sound and vibration. Also, a high quality rinse can be expected from the product along with NSF approval, eliminating almost all of the bacteria in dishware.

Drying is also made easier and better with the OptiDry feature that dries without leaving any bubble spots. The 19 hour delay time makes for a daily convenience as well as the remaining time display. Economically, the unit is also ideal and being Energy Certified, it reduces up to 20 percent of energy used during each load.

A Half Load option is also available to wash small loads and allows 14 place settings all in all. ChildLock feature secures that each load is finished without interruption, while an extra tall sprinkler system makes sure items up to 22 inches in height are accomodated.

Disadvantages

The fact that most Bosch models have an automatic adjustment racks makes the SHE43P12UC a bit on the lower scale. Also, it lacks some of the features present in other dishwasher types. For one, the model doesn't have a China or Crystal setting for more vulnerable dishware. A hard food disposer is also lacking, making it necessary to pre-rinse the items before loading. The Bosch SHE43P12UC is also not ADA compliant, as well as not being Star-K Certified.

too small NEW
by: Pete

This dishwasher is very small compared to the competition and only just noticeably quieter. In particular the bottom rack of the dishwasher offers no flexibility at all in terms of loading options. If you happen to have what I find to be not especially deep or large dishes, then you may as well factor in buying a new set of dishes along with this washer. Also, if you want to wash that mixing bowl or tupperware type container, you can forget about that too. What's the use of this, if it can only wash 2/3 of your dishes.

On the plus side it cleans well and when used with the proper rinse agent, the dishes are spotless. Another plus is the fact there is no heating element to dry (reducing risk of fire and odd smells when a plastic or wood utensil falls to the bottom of the washer during cleaning). It is fairly quiet, and seems to use a minimum of (what needs to be very hot) water to get the job done. I'd hesitate to purchase this if you have a small child in the house and have chosen to keep your hot water temperature low to keep your children safe (you may be disappointed with the cleaning results).

On the whole, I wouldn't buy this again and can't recommend it unless you're single and wash small loads and can have your household hot water temperature set fairly high. Four stars for cleaning, one star for being very impractical.
