Bosch SHE4AM Dishwasher

The Bosch SHE4AM dishwasher is a pretty good dishwasher. It gets the dishes clean without having to rinse them spotless beforehand. It has a great many wonderful features. Its child safety feature is a terrific asset, especially with small children in the home.

If you enable this feature, the child can push the buttons and nothing will happen. It also has a time delay feature, which enables you to have the dishwasher start at a later time. This is nice if you do not want to be running the dishwasher while someone is taking a shower, or while a load of laundry is going in the washing machine.

This dishwasher also is VERY quiet. I have had numerous dishwashers over the years with the various places I have lived, and this Bosch dishwasher is by far the quietest one I have ever used. The silverware caddy has a nice feature as well. It has 2 "lids" that can be snapped closed so you can wash small items (such as baby bottle nipples, small utensils, etc.) with no worry that they will wind up all over the dishwasher during the cleaning.

Pros
- It runs very quietly.
- It gets the dishes clean the first time.(There's no need to rinse them thoroughly before loading the dishwasher.)

Cons
- The silverware caddy slides around a lot. It appears to be too small for the space provided (or the space is too big). Once the dishes are loaded, I find I am constantly having to push the caddy back into place.
- The bottom rack never stays on the track when I pull it out. I am constantly having to re-align it before pushing it back into the dishwasher.

Terrible Dishwasher!

The bosch she4am dishwasher does not empty completely and leaves the dishes with food particles and residue on them. I have to rinse the dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher. Should have listened to my Dad and bought a Kitchen Aid. Bosch is complete junk.

Worst Dishwasher I've ever had

oMG - I do wish I'd come here before I bought mine from Sears - I agree with all of your comments it's the worst dishwasher I've ever had in 30 years and it was the most expensive. I tried to get Sears to take it back but they wouldn't do anything about it the top rack never washes, and the lower rack is so poorly designed it only holds half of what our old maytag did - and it's supposed to be a 'tall' high capacity one. i can't afford to throw away a 1000$ dishwasher, but if i could i'd trash it in a second!

Bosch Dishwasher Frustration

We bought the Bosch Dishwasher at Lowes. My wife looked at the whole selection and picked this one. The "power scrub" cycle is the only setting that cleaned the dishes. Periodically it wouldn't start. We had to reset the cycle and try again. It is frustrating. Now it won't start at all. Junk, junk, junk! It was installed last year. I regret the choice.

Dirty upper rack

This dishwasher never cleaned perfectly, but after 2 years the upper rack (mostly glasses) just stay dirty, almost the way we put them in. Bosch is a piece of junk!

Terrible dishwasher

My dishwasher is terrible! The top rack definately comes out dirtier with spots of debris inside and outside of my glasses and bowls.
Peanut butter never washes off anything!

Boo for Bosch

We totally agree with all the other reviews. We hate our Bosch SHE4AM dishwasher. Don't buy one!! None of our dishes fit well, so we end up running it every day. The glasses come out with grit in the bottoms. We waste so much water pre-washing the dishes, and they still come out dirty!! The racks fall off the tracks frequently. The little compartment that holds the soap is hard to close. The whole machine is just so poorly designed. Also, the regular cycle seems to take hours. Bosch should be ashamed of themselves for putting this machine out on the market. After suffering with this washer for less than two years, we are finally giving up and buying another one--looking for a U.S. made brand!

Horrible dishwasher

I rinse carefully before putting dishes in and they come out covered in particles of food. the arms constantly get stuck with small pieces of food (from the garbage disposal?). I put almost nothing in the disposal, completely run it and flush it with water before starting the dishwasher. Nothing seems to make any difference. I read that the hose connection to the dishwasher can cause this problem so i repositioned it. Still no better. It has to be the dishwasher. i can't take it anymore. we stopped using it and will buy a new one when that becomes financially possible.

Fed up!!

I had a stainless steel Bosch Dishwasher installed 6/12/10 and had it replaced 7/6/10. Thought the first one was defective as my glasses were always cloudy, streaked, and spotted, left everything wet when finished running, silverware still had residue of food. This new one does the same thing. It was a replacement for a 10 year old bottom of the line one that did the same after the first year warranty expired. I plan to go down to Sears and pick out another make of dishwasher. Think I will buy Kenmore this time as next door neighbor has had one for years and no complaints. We live in an area with hard water but hers gets everything clean.

I have the same complaints! After about a year and a half the stupid thing doesn't work. I have to wash the dishes thoroughly before putting them in the machine, and then they come out dirtier than they went in! My last dishwasher was a Maytag & I'm going back to them.

Bosche SHE4AM Waste of Money

I bought my Bosch SHE4AM from Lowe's about 8 months ago and have hated it from the first load of dishes. It does not clean the dishes. The dishes come out with bits of dirty rinse water dried all over them dispite every kind of dishwasher soap and rinse aid I try. Also a load of dishes can take anywhere from 2-2 1/2 hours to complete only to find that I now have to rewash most of them by hand. What a waste of money!

Bad dishwasher

Our Bosch SHE4AM16UC was a piece of junk! The dishes never came out clean unless we washed them by hand first. The bottom rack did not hold very many items except for plates. The rack configuration was weird. A few months after purchase, it wouldn't drain and threw particles of food back on to the dishes. We replaced it after less than a year.
