Bosch SHX98MO(9) UC

We bought this dishwasher a year ago from Best Buy, and ever since i have never had any problems with it. What i noticed in particular about it at the store was it's elegant simplicity, and how it combined functionality with an artistic, sleek, design.

The employee who was helping us select a dishwasher said it was a popular appliance, and very rarely received calls for repairs. The dishwasher soap mechanism was suprisingly unique, and was quick and easy to access, opening and closing without problems. Compared to my last Whirlpool dishwasher, the soap container was often jammed, and i had a frustrating experience with a screwdriver trying to open it.

The Bosch dishwasher usually washed the dishes just fine, and did not require much pre-washing. Although, I found this dishwasher to be on more of a pricey side than I would have liked, it does just fine, and i would recommend this dishwasher to anyone who would enjoy a functional dishwasher, with a modern, almost futuristic design. I personally enjoyed the way the front of the dishwasher conceals the buttons and options that are usually visible on most of the older dishwashers.

Personally, i like the metallic finish of the Bosch dishwasher (as most of my appliances are of the same color), most appliances are made that way today. Also, my neighbor has a similar Bosch dishwasher in comparison to mine and has told me that he has also not had any maintainence problems with it.

Lastly, I find Bosch in general to be a fine brand for dishwashers, and even though their products are more expensive than most, it is a safe investment, and a nice touch to any kitchen.

Bosch Dishwasher nightmare
by: Anonymous

I have had nothing but a BIG BAD experience with the Bosch Dishwasher.
I washed my dishes including my pans, and the pans came out looking like they went thru a war.The are black and ugly now..I took special care of them for 40 years and now they are in my opinion ruined. I asked to have the temperature turned down from the distributor and they told me I had to live with it.
That is one brand I will never buy and I tell as many people that if they like black/dull dark grey pans then go ahead and buy one.,
I do have to admit that it does run quiet..
It is not worn out yet, but I am going to get a new one just to get rid of the extreme heat that tempers my pans.

TOTALLY worth it for the product

This is a review of the Bosch SHX98M09UC dishwasher, which we recently purchased from Sears. We've owned it for about 8 months now, and we ADORE it!

This washer is extremely quiet, effective, and energy-efficient. We go through a lot of dishes in our house, and we have actually seen a DECREASE in our energy bills since we installed this washer. Instead of employing a heater drying cycle, it recycles energy from the washing in order to dry the dishes. I don't know how they do it, but it works! Our dishes are bone dry by the end of the cycle, without being so hot that you can't unload the machine for twenty minutes.

The machine is terrific at cleaning baked-on gunk off of all types of dishes, including bakeware, serveware, stoneware, and flatware. We almost never have to repeat the rinse cycle. It's also very spacious, so everything we use in one day fits inside at the same time.

The design is sleek and modern, with hidden controls. This was important for us, as we recently renovated our kitchen and we wanted our appliances to fit in with the aesthetic concept we were going for. I love the stainless steel front; it matches our refrigerator and adds a cool modern look to our kitchen.

We paid approximately $1500 for this dishwasher, which was about twice what we'd originally planned on spending, but in retrospect I am SO glad that we made this decision in favor of this washer. The only feature that it lacks is a hard food disposer, so occasionally you'll have to manually empty the filter. However, this happens very rarely for us, and it's really not a pain at all. I'd say we probably empty it once every two months or so.

All in all, I highly recommend this washer! The price tag is a bit hefty, but TOTALLY worth it for the product you're getting.
