Estate (by Whirlpool) Dishwasher, Model # TUD6710SQ

Simply put, this is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. We bought this as a replacement for our previous dishwasher and it has been nothing but trouble. First off, it looks like a normal sized dishwasher, but the internal dimensions are quite small - it can be very difficult to get dishes in there, i.e. large pots and reusable water bottles.

Another bad thing is that if you don't get the cycle selector dial turned just perfectly right, it won't work. It also has issues with pumping water - we had it professionally installed and they still maintain it's hooked up correctly, which makes me think it is the dishwasher itself. The dish drying cycle doesn't dry all the water on the dishes.

The very worst thing about this dishwasher is that it is extremely noisy. It is so noisy that you can't run it while you're sleeping or doing anything that requires silence. Now, it does have some good points. It looks very nice. The controls are very intuitive, but as mentioned above, can be a bit cranky. It does a good job washing dishes, provided you pre-wash them before loading the machine. If you don't do this, the food will be stuck to your dishes and you will have a hard time getting them off.

It does have quite a few cycle options, making it easy to choose the right cycle for your needs. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this dishwasher to anyone, unless they run one load a week and they don't mind noisy dishwashers. We are currently looking to replace this dishwasher.

Bad gasket ruined our floor
by: Freeman

Our new estate dishwasher had a faulty gasket in the door that leaked enough water to ruin our Kitchen floor. It cost us $1600+ to rebuild it and were down about 6 days. We sent all the correspondence and the leaky gasket to Whirlpool and referred it to the legal division. will let you know what they will do with it.

I think this is a wonderful product.

I just recently purchased a house and was looking to buy matching appliances for my kitchen. Normally, I would look at the expensive brands before I could consider a purchase.

After looking in different department store like Sears, Circuit City, I ended up at a local appliance store in my home town. I just happened to walk in and saw the set that included the refrigerator, stove and dishwasher.

I really liked the price and the look for my kitchen. I immediately purchased the set and had it installed. It has been a great experience. At first I was a little skepticle, but then after having had it for a year now, I am very pleased with the quality and performance of this dishwasher.

I hope I will have it for years to come. I love that you can pick from different cycles, temperatures and weather you want to air dry or heat dry. It gives me options that I like.

I haven't had any real issues with it except that for some reason the dial gets stuck sometimes. What I do is grab a pair of pliers and turn the knob with it because it is hard to turn by hand.

I have an estate (by whirlpool) dishwasher, model # tud6700ks0. I purchased it when i redecorated my home. It worked ok, then one day it smelled like it was burning. I turned it off, it was so hot i could hardly open the door. everything in it was burning hot, and plastic things were all melted. I havent used it since afraid of it catching on fire, plus it makes a loud noise.
I sure would appreciate any info. on what i can do !

thanks, hoping to hear something soon...
