Fisher and Paykel Dishwashers

Innovating Your Life

Trying to buy the right dishwasher can be an incredibly difficult task. There are so many styles and versions that one can choose from and this certainly does not make the task any easier and just serves to confuse the consumer until finally you just throw caution to the wind and just buy something because you have heard of the name before.

When talking about dishwashers in general our thoughts normally turn to the giants of the industry. Those companies we have heard about and been inundated with deceptive ads by for decades.

I am talking about the Maytag Company, the General Electric brand of products and more recently the Life is Good (i.e. LG) company. All these products offer us is a name we have heard of.

Fisher and Paykel Dishwashers Overview

The Fisher and Paykel company has been making high-quality, state of the art dishwashers for years but have not been readily heard of.

This is a shame as their products are top notch and come in many sizes and price ranges. Some of their products are in the EXKleen brand line which offers smart cleaning technology and they come in singles units or two drawer.

They even have single and double drawers in fully integrated models. Their machines offer a wide variety of features sure to make any homeowner proud to own to one.

If you are style conscious then you have several options of finishes including stainless steel, black, white and cream so that you can match your dishwasher to your homes décor with ease.

What sets Fisher and Paykel apart from the others is their revolutionary electronic drive system that is widely used throughout their bands. The company introduced a brushless direct current motor in 1980 and this lead to the creation of the Smart Drive clothes washer.

This technology was soon applied to their brands of dishwashers which currently use “smart electronics” that control the brushless direct current motors that drive the units washing ability. This gave great flexibility of design as well as making style concerns that much more easier to control.

Single and Double Drawer EZKleen and Standard Dishwasher

When Fisher and Paykel imagined the perfect dishwasher this is what came out out of their heads and they created the idea of a “DishDrawer” which combined form as well as function and each drawer on the units are all individually operated, running independently from each other which allows the owner to wash smaller loads for the same money as larger ones and you can program each drawer based on the contents so your china can stay in one piece.

The features include:

  • 9 wash cycles each including an eco option so you minimize water usage.

  • A flow-through detergent system that dissolves the detergent before it enters the dishwasher to minimize or cease detergent spots and build up.

  • Can use less than 2 gallons of water.

  • Sanitary temperature of 163 degrees during the rinse cycle.

  • Child Safety Lock

  • Load Sensor

  • Up to 12 Hour Delay Start

  • Two Control Panels (one concealed)

  • Self Diagnostic

  • Ability to wash up to 6 place settings

The overall height of the single drawer unit is just 16 inches making it the ultimate in space saving technology. The double drawer unit measures about 33” making it ideal for an under the counter solution.

Single and Double Drawer Fully Integrated Dishwasher

The epitome of style the fully integrated dishwasher can match your homes style and décor to a “T” and can be invisible to the naked eye appearing as any other drawer in your kitchen.

This dishwasher is made to fit seamlessly into the flow of your kitchen and to be out of the way.

And the best part is that they come in single and double drawers and offer the same exact benefits as all of the other dishwashers that Fisher and Paykel manufacture.

The Benefits of DishDrawer Technology

I mentioned the fact that the Fisher and Paykel line of dishwashers utilize something known as a “DishDrawer”, a revolutionary way to wash dishes.

This technology lets you wash your delicate glassware like wine glasses as well as bakeware that has been soiled beyond being removed with a chisel along with your usual pots and pans at the same exact time using different settings for each drawer. In short your dishes are cared for.

The DishDrawer technology is also geared to the environmentally conscious by minimizing the water that is used, the energy needed to power it as well as the amount of detergent that you have to use – what all of this means is that it costs less for you to run.

You can even run very small loads using a scant 2 gallons of water and under 3 gallons for normal loads. This means you do not have to wait until every meal of the day is done to do your dishes.

The design of the DishDrawer system kept the user in mind. The technology allows for an ergonomic way to do dishes by eliminating the need to bend over or kneel down to load a dishwasher.

Instead you simply slide the dishwasher open like any other drawer in your kitchen. The rack inside is as you are used to so there is no learning curve for arranging your dishes.

The washing performance of the technology is unmatched. With normal dishwashers when you change a setting here or there all you really are doing is changing how long the dishwasher runs and nothing else.

With the DishDrawer technology when you change a setting you change everything, not just the time. You change how much water you are using, how hot it will get and even how much detergent will be used and the strength of the water flow.

The flexibility of the system is not seen in dishwashers as you can add on. Your family can grow and your needs can increase and so can your dishwasher. You can have more than one single unit stacked together as well as interconnected double units and they hide in plain sight in your kitchen.

A Final Word

Fisher and Paykel care about the environment and your family and this care is translated into the products they have to offer despite not being known the world over by a lazy man in a blue overall – their machines actually work.
