Frigidaire FDB1100RHC Dishwasher

This dishwasher is great. It has a stylish sleek look to it. It is an extremely silent washer. We can even watch the TV while we run the dishwasher. The part I love the most is that it has 4 different cycles to choose from. For the highly soiled or greasy dishes I love to run the pots & pans cycle. The dishes come out clean. It has a delay start which helps me when I have to go out. It is energy star which is the biggest criteria for selecting this machine.

The biggest drawback is that I have noticed only liquid dishwasher detergent works best. The gel pacs or tablets or even powder most times get stuck in the detergent compartment & hence the dishes don't come out as clean. Most times when you don't lock the dishwasher & if someone leans on it it starts instantly. I have experienced this all so often. It wastes water, & electricity.

Pros:
- stylish design
- runs very quietly
- choice of 4 cycles
- energy efficient

Cons:
- not good with gel or powder detergent
- easy to start accidentally

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

some issues... NEW
by: Anonymous

This dishwasher was new when I purchased my home, but I had no part in the decision to purchase it. It does offer quite a bit of versatility. The silverware holder is removable and can be placed all around the sides of the bottom rack. Another nice feature is the upper water arm that helps wash the dishes on the top rack.

On the downside, is the noise volume. It is quite noisy, surprisingly, despite being advertised as quiet. At times, the noises it makes tend to make me believe that something is wrong. At the end of a cycle it will stop and remained stopped for quite some time when it will start up again. It can be confusing at times as to whether it has completed a cycle.

Another issue I have is with the lower rack. It was designed, I suspect, to be able to hold a variety of plate sizes and styles. From my experience it doesn't hold anything in place well. Plates tend to fall over and gradually loading over a few days can become tedious.

Another issue I have is a soap film that is left some items on both the lower rack and upper rack despite using the proper amount of dishwashing soap.

As far as appearance, it is rather modern and understated. The buttons and functions are easy to understand and use. There is a feature that will delay the start of the wash, which is handy at times. The front surface is easy to clean and keep clean.

Okay for price NEW
by: Anonymous

I bought this dishwasher several months ago at Sears. What made me decide to purchase it was it's design - I thought it was very sleek looking and would fit into my home well.

When I brought it home it was very easy to setup and install. It cleans my dishes well and usually I cannot find even a spot of residue, even if I do not rinse my dishes before placing them inside of the dishwasher.

There are a few problems, though. It is quite loud, so I cannot do my dishes at night while others in my household are asleep. Also, it did break down once and I had to get it fixed. The racks inside are also not the most sturdy in the world, so sometimes I have trouble placing items on them.

Overall, for the price, it's probably a good dishwasher, but if you have more money and can afford something better, I would not purchase this one.
