Worst choice ever NEW
by: Anonymous

We have a frigidaire gallery dishwasher (stainless steel). Purchasing this dishwasher was a big mistake. Frequently (i.e. most of the time), it coats the dishes with whatever dirt was left on them when they were put in the dishwasher, by chance, and possibly because of extensive pre-rinsing, sometimes the dishes come out clean. It takes over an hour and a half to run a load of dishes (no exaggeration), and, although the dishwasher was quiet when we first purchased it (about a year and a half ago), it is now very loud. A salesperson (where we purchased the dishwasher) kept steering us towards the popular Maytag, but we thought "a dishwasher is a dishwasher" and the frigidaired looked a little better from the outside. Well, I am still kicking myself for not listening to the salesperson.

very pleased NEW
by: Anonymous

At first I did not think too much of this dishwasher. Now after using it more I have come to realize that it’s a very good appliance. It’s easy to use and pretty quick and quiet while it’s running.

I think the only problem that it does have is that sometimes when it’s all done there is still some water in it and it spills when I’m trying to put away the dishes. That is the only problem though, everything else works great and it’s very easy to use.

It has a good amount of settings on it which takes care of everything that I need it to take care of. I looked at the label on the inside and it seems very up to date and efficient. All of this surprises me because it seems pretty old and it’s even a little beat up but it still manages to run perfectly and do an awesome job on the dishes.

It holds a good amount of dishes and silverware so I can do everything I need to do in one load which is really nice. The area that holds the detergent is also very good because it actually works. I have had a lot of dishwashers where that latch wouldn’t keep it closed and all the detergent would just spill out once you tried to close the door.

It’s nice to have a dishwasher that does the job and works properly. This dishwasher fits that description.

slow clean, but energy saver NEW
by: Anonymous

I bought the Frigidaire Gallery (Ultra Quiet) dishwasher because I heard and read that it saved energy and that it was very quiet. To be honest, the Frigidaire Gallery (Ultra Quiet) dishwasher is quiet sometimes when it is running, so that is good for when you don't want to be disturbed when watching television all the time.

Saving energy is definitely important to me. A lot of older dishwashers that I had consumed a lot of power and water. Frigidaire Gallery (Ultra Quiet) dishwasher only uses enough water and power to get the dishes clean.

On the downside, I feel that Frigidaire Gallery (Ultra Quiet) dishwasher can be noisy at times when it's going through the rinse and clean cycle. It's gets loud enough to the point where it sort of gets difficult to hear what other people are saying.

Another thing is Frigidaire Gallery (Ultra Quiet) dishwasher takes a little bit too long to clean dishes. This may be due to the fact that it's conserving water, but still, I sometimes get impatient waiting for the dishes to be finished.

I feel that isn't a terrible dishwasher, but I guess it could be better. If your worried about saving money and energy, this dishwasher should be right up your alley.

For those people who like the design of dishwashers, the design of the Frigidaire Gallery (Ultra Quiet)should satisfy their needs. The sleek, white design of the dishwasher will be chic in any modern kitchen.

Better than nothing NEW
by: Susan

We have had a Frigidaire Gallery "Ultra Quiet" built-in model for about five years. This dishwasher was purchased by our landlady because it was (in her opinion) the best deal at Sears. Unfortunately, it performs just about up to the standard of a very cheap dishwasher.

Does it clean the dishes? Yes, for the most part. But if it runs out of rinsing agent, it leaves unrinsed detergent grit all over everything. Unfortunately, some basic parts on the thing don't hold up very well.

Within a year or so, two of the wheels on the bottom tray had broken off. Within three years, the handle had broken, so that if the dishwasher was latched, only my husband could open it. Our landlady hadn't wanted to pay for a warranty, so we had to call in a repairman to fix the handle, which was very expensive! Also, some of the enamel over the bottom rack has melted off.

As for the "Ultra Quiet" label, I haven't found this dishwasher to be particularly quiet; it's certainly no quieter than any previous dishwasher I've owned.

I'd rather have the Frigidaire than nothing, but I'd also rather have something better than the Frigidaire.
