Frigidaire Ultraquiet

by Nick
(Natick MA, USA)

My family got this dishwasher a few years back to replace a nonfunctional one that was present upon buying the house. We bought it from a local appliance store.

I liked its range of options for different lengths and qualities of wash, and it has a fairly eye-pleasing design. For the first year it worked fairly well, though I'm not sure I would call it as "Ultra Quiet" as its name suggests. After the first year we started to get water spots on dishes that had completed their cycles. We put up with this for some time. Finally the dishwasher simply ceased to work. The panel lights come on indicating that you have the switch in the "Complete" position, but the switch will not start any dishwasher functions.

We've been washing our dishes by hand for the past few months, waiting for the day that we will have enough spare money to get a new dishwasher or fix the current one. In closing, I would not recommend the Frigidaire Ultraquiet.

Louder than our old dishwasher
by: Anonymous

I have had my Frigidaire Ultra Quiet dishwasher for a few years now. Originally, we decided to replace our old dishwasher because we were going from white appliances to stainless steel.

As far as looks, it is a very nice machine. It fits nicely in the kitchen and matches well with our other appliances. Operation of the machine is very straight forward and you do not need a PHD in Mechanical Engineering to get it started. However, it is definitely not Ultra Quiet.

As a matter of fact, it tends to be a lot louder than our old dishwasher. It is truly a pet peeve of mine. Often times when it is running, I will go investigate if I’ve loaded it wrong because I will here a constant ticking. I assume the top spray is hitting a cup or bowl, but it is just the way the machine sounds while operating.

I have also run into a few issues of it draining improperly. I had the person who installed it come back out and see if was sitting level. He ended up pulling it out and putting it back in. The drainage problems haven’t been as much as an issue since then, however I do not feel it is 100% fixed.

Although we have had these few problems, it does wash the dishes nicely. I haven’t had too many issues with spotting. Additionally, it has an energy saving drying option, which dries the dishes fine with a little extra wait. I rate this product a 3 out of 5 and probably would recommend looking into other options prior to purchasing this machine. Sorry Frigidaire!
