Frigidare 1500 series model FDB1500LFC2

When we moved into our new house from our old custom kitchen four years ago, it came fully stocked with GE appliances selected by the previous owner. Overall they were the cheap models, probably selected by the development's builder - unattractive machines, but certainly usable.
After only 3 and a half years, our GE dishwasher broke and the cost to repair it was about half of the cost of buying a completely new comparable machine. After a little though we decided to go ahead any buy the new one. We went to Lowes, since that's where we had credit, and looked around at the various models in stock before finally deciding this Frigidare stainless finish model (probably because, or at least in part because, it was the newer version of what we had in our old home).
Overall we are very pleased with its performance. The nicest thing is that it has a sanitation feature which of course is very desirable, especially in a household with small children. There are also water supplies for both the top and bottom racks - a feature that our old machine did not have. However, the biggest con has been that as a general rule - even with the best of detergents - we now have to prewash virtually everything we need washed whereas we did not need to before. Anything that goes in with cooked on residue will come back out with the residue completely intact.
Occasionally, we just wash the select pieces a second time, which really isn't that inconvenient despite being detrimental to the environment. This Frigidare model is, however much quieter than our previous dishwasher. Our old GE model resonated throughout the house and prevented us from enjoying TV in the adjoining living room in our open floor plan home. Now noise is not a problem.
Overall, I would say that it was a good purchase for the money, but I really wish that we did not have to prewash everything.
