GE 24'' Hotpoint Dishwasher

I am currently a college student, so first off I have to say that I am just glad I even have a dishwasher! But, the truth really is this: I hate my dishwasher. I rent my apartment, so I had no choice in the matter of buying the dishwasher, but the building was build in the last 5 years so all of the appliances, including the dishwasher are at most 5 years old too. Here are my complaints, first of all I have to rinse of my dishes, and cannot leave too much food on my plates before putting it in the dishwasher. If I do, I have to run the dishwasher a second time because the food goes everywhere. My second complaint is how loud this dishwasher is. I can usually hear it in the other room! So, I have to plan out when I will run the dishwasher, so it won’t bother my studying, or being able to listen to a movie. I grew up with a lovely Bosch dishwasher in my home, and this dishwasher cannot even compare! Bosch makes amazing dishwashers with many options. My favorite being water saving, and top rack only. It is also so quiet you don’t even know it is running. Overall, I would have to say if I was low on cash that the GE Hotpoint Dishwasher does get the job done, its been very reliable, and it is much better then not having one at all, especially if you have a family.

I am sorry to say I don't know the model number. I did find one that seems to be the updated version of what I have on this website:

worst I've seen
by: Anonymous

This is the worst dishwasher that I’ve had in my life. It is new. I’ve only been using it for about 3-4 months. Unfortunately, I know what a good dishwasher does. So, the dismal way it cleans my pre-cleaned dishes is really disappointing.

I am used to being able to put rinsed dishes in and getting shiny clean dishes out. I still use the same detergents and rinse agents as I did with much better dishwashers, but my dishes seem to be dirtier when I take them out than when I put them in.

Sadly, this is the second time in my life that I’ve had this dishwasher. I don’t like the layout of the racks. It forces you to make smaller loads, which uses a lot of energy while leaving my dishes dirty. The bottom wrack is designed in a way that makes breakage of plates likely.

It is really noisy. Televisions or radios have to be turned up to deafening levels to be heard over the dishwasher, when trying to attend to them in adjacent rooms. It is difficult for me to think of anything positive to say about this dishwasher, since I’ve never had one that was worse.

It’s nice that it comes in black. That way, it matches my other appliances. I’m glad the controls are easy to understand. I’m glad that I didn’t have to learn a language specific to this dishwasher in order work it.
