I purchased the GE 24-Inch Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher with Energy Star from Lowes in December, 2008. The thing I like the most about this dishwasher is how very quiet it is. The dishwasher is located in an island, and you can actually hold a normal conversation while having the dishwasher running.
My old dishwasher was so loud that it was difficult to hold a conversation while the dishwasher was running; with this one, while you know it is running, it is very quiet. I also like the stainless-steel look of the dishwasher. It is not actual stainless-steel, instead called "CleanSteel", and it is a breeze to keep clean, with none of the "spots" problems I have with my actual stainless steel appliances.
The top rack is angled, and therefore you can fit taller glasses and other dishes on the top rack that I could not with my old dishwasher. I also like the utensil's rack. It is removable, so I am able to take it from the dishwasher to the drawer, and it also has individual racks for each utensil.
I also like the controls on the outside of the dishwasher. Not only do they look "clean", as it they are not cumbersome, but they are self-explanatory and easy to figure out. I also like that it signals when it is complete with the cycle, with a 2-ding alarm.
It also has a feature to program the dishwasher to turn on at a later time. I also appreciate that it is an Energy Star appliance, and will help with both water and energy conservation. It also has different temperatures for different loads. I can wash pots and pans at a higher temperature, or adjust it to wash my china at a lower temperature.
My only complaint about the dishwasher is that I have to rinse all of my dishes completely before putting them in the dishwasher, or they do not get clean.
