Ge Adora Quietpower II GHDA650LWW Dishwasher

Ge Adora Quietpower II Model: GHDA960K03WW Overall, I selected my GE dishwasher based on reviews. It was not the cheapest model, but by far rated better than some of it's competitors.

Pros of the GE Adora: 1) It is extremely quiet. I have previously owned dishwashers that were so loud you would be unable to talk on the phone in the room if it were on. With that said, this dishwasher was very quiet. My kitchen is open to my livingroom and at no time when the dishwasher was running did I feel the need to turn up the volume on the TV. I could talk on the phone while standing next to it with no issues.

2) Ease of operation is key. Some models of dishwashers feel like you need a degree just to operate - dry heat?

Do I need that? The controls on this model are very easy to operate and it's pretty much dummy-proof. I now rent out the home this is installed in and I never fear the need to instruct my tenants on how to operate this appliance. Thanks GE!

And now for the Cons... 1) I have owned the dishwasher for less than 5 years and am having mechanical issues with it. Upon completion of a cycle, about 3" of water remain in the bottom of the tub. It clears on the rinse, but not after a full cycle. I'm told that it needs a new electric panel - which costs about $350 for install/purchase. I may have to replace the unit. 2) GE service could be better.

When the issue occurred I had a GE service rep come to look at the dishwasher. Between the service and the fix, it would be cheaper to purchase a new dishwasher. Perhaps that is GE's plan, to make it easier to purchase new dishwashers than having them fixed? I was disappointed in their assessment and cost as I have found new electrical panels online for significantly less than they quoted. Overall - not happy with the GE service.
