GE GDWF100RBB Black Built-in Dishwasher

CleanSensor, Energy Star

CleanSensor, Energy Star

Dishwashers from GE usually come with the promise of energy efficiency. With the GE GDWF100RBB built-in dishwashing unit, the emphasis is on cleanliness. Powered with a CleanSensor, the dishwasher can detect the amount of dirt and grime on the dishes and has a SaniWash cycle to remove harmful germs and bacteria.

Interior Features
  • The cleaning system of the GE GDWF100RBB is pretty thorough. There are several features that are working together to achieve the common goal of removing both invisible and visible dirt. The PureClean wash system ensures that the water used is clean by letting it go through five stages of filtration. The CleanSensor is a tiny laser embedded in the appliance that detects just how soiled the dishes are. Then, there is the SaniWash cycle, a special cycle that the user can choose to eliminate 99.999% of harmful germs and bacteria.
  • To prepare for the actual cleaning and sanitizing of the dishes, there is a Steam Pre-Wash option for dishes that have extra sticky grime. The steam loosens the stubborn grime before submitting the dishes to any of the cycles available.
  • There are 4 cycles and 5 options to choose from, a typical selection from a GE built-in dishwasher. The GE GDWF100RBB also has the typical 2/4/8 Delay Start. This simply means that the user can program the dishwasher to function 2, 4, or 8 hours before the actual operation.
  • The interior is made of annealed stainless steel, which makes the GE GDWF100RBB's insides free from rusting. It can stand up to stains.
  • With the QuietPower package (54 dBA), the GE GDWF100RBB produces minimal noise and will not disturb the kitchen area and the rest of the household during use.

    Exterior Features

  • The common three exterior color/finish options are available: stainless steel, black or white. This model is primarily black, as indicated by the model number ending in BB.
  • The tub and the door liner are made of rust-free stainless steel, while the racks are made of durable material – nylon. These racks are built to last long and can definitely secure the dishes.

    Storage rack
    by: Old John

It is my opinion the best use for this machine is to store clean dishes after you have washed them by hand.

    Worst Dishwasher Ever
    by: Bea

I don't know anyone who purchased this dishwasher and was happy with it. It lasted a little over two years, which seems to be the average among people I talked to. GE service personnel are the rudest. After 40 years, no more GE products for me.

    Does not clean dishes
    by: Anonymous

Purchased the GDWF100RBB GE dishwasher. It does not clean well and the racks (both upper and lower) do not hold plates and bowls upright. They all tumble together and dishes are not clean - even with the steam option. Not happy. We've had it a week and I am returning it. I thought GE dishwashers would be great.

    So far so good
    by: Pete

Though I've had this unit for a few weeks is all, it has been great. VERY quiet and does what I need in dish washing. The Maytag unit I had (only 18 months!) the touch panel kept going out. Instead of paying $118 for a new part that would probably just go bad also, I bought this GE and am very happy to have something dependable.

I owned this model briefly and it flooded my kitchen five times. The tech put in new parts which cost more than I paid for it originally - and it still did the same thing.
