My husband and I bought this dishwasher in the summer of 2007. We were in the middle of a pretty extensive renovation that involved a total re-do of our kitchen and we were in the market for all new stainless steel appliances. Our only requirements for the dishwasher were that it was quiet and that it cleaned the dishes well. This model has greatly exceeded our expectations!

In addition to the machine being almost silent (the first time I turned it on I had to open the door to make sure it was running) it has a stylish appearance that fits in perfectly with our modern kitchen. The buttons are hidden away on the top of edge of the door and it has a sleek tubular steel handle on the front.

There are a wide variety of settings on this dishwasher, including a heated dry option, and it also has adjustable racks inside. I can wash almost everything in my kitchen without worry that it will be damaged or that it won’t fit. And, everything always comes out perfectly clean!

I would recommend this dishwasher to anyone in the market for a new model. I can’t think of a single bad thing to say about it.

Don't buy it...

Out of the 7 GE Monogram appliances we purchased with our new house, 4 have completely stopped working (our main refrigerator, double oven and the gas range still work). The dish washer now trickles water into the bottom of the unit, then the heating element comes on full blast until you turn it off. The range hood completely stopped working the other day (no it wasn't the breaker switch). The beveridge refrigerator motor went out and had to be replace and the built-in microwave looks and sounds like it's working but hasn't heated anything in about 2 years! The appliances are not even 4 years old. If you want some cool looking stainless steel decorations, get ANY GE Monogram appliance. Good luck!

Don't buy this dishwasher

This dishwasher is the worst appliance I have ever owned. We have had to have it repaired three times the first year we owned it. The repairman even told us they were bad appliances. They have a design fault that causes them to clog easily, however in order to clear the clog the dishwasher must be taken apart. We now very carefully rinse (almost wash) all of our dishes and it still clogs. Now there is soap residue left in the dishwasher after it has finished the wash cycle. We also bought a GE Monogram refrigerator and have had multiple (very expensive) problems with it. Don't buy GE.

Cleans dishes perfectly

This is one of the best dishwashers we've ever owned. It's extremely quiet, cleans dishes perfectly (with some tweaking, see below) and holds a full bottle of liquid detergent! There's plenty of room for everything, and almost all of the tines can be folded down to accommodate larger items. It's a great dishwasher!

The only issue we had at the beginning was the problem of dishes not getting fully cleaned. After checking the manual, I realized the "water hardness" setting was not correct (we're on well water). Once I changed that, and started using Cascade Complete, no more problems with dirty dishes. I don't rinse dishes, but do scrape off the large pieces of crud before loading the dishwasher. It handles the dishes with ease.
