GE Profile

I absolutely abhor this dishwasher. All the appliances in my house came as a package deal from the builder but only have problems with the diswasher. I have owned and operated it since January 2006 and ever since day one it has done a horrible job of cleaning.

I have tried almost all the different brands of dishwashing detergent sold but none have made a bit of difference. In comparison to the old model (Whirlpool) I had in my prior apartment, I would take the old one over this new GE Profile. The Whirlpool model was distinctively quieter and did a much better job on cleaning dishes, glasses and silverware.

For a dishwasher which is only 2 years old, this GE Profile ranks far below any other brand on the market, especially when a model which is 6 years old out performs it.

I definitely will not recommend this prouct to anyone and have written to my builder to request that they change companys when outfitting any further new homes. I have been in contact with other new homeowners who have the GE appliance package which was included in their purchase and 97% have agreed with my findings. If the economy were not so bad, I would trash it and purchase a new one immediately.

However, my finances at the moment do not allow for this so I have resorted to hand washing my dishes unless I have a large number of dinner guests which is when I do actually utilize the Profile dishwasher but inevitably have to run it at least twice to accomplish getting the dishes clean.
