GE Under the Sink Dishwashers Overview

If you are in the market for a new dishwasher, you probably know by now that there are a ton of options out there.

If you are in the market for a new dishwasher, you probably know by now that there are a ton of options out there.

In this article, I will be taking a look at the under sink models of dishwasher made by GE.

I will compare the features of the available models and evaluate feedback by customers who have purchased each model.

GE Under the Sink Dishwasher Overview

For people whose homes are equipped for under the sink dishwashers, these are an excellent option.

Hooked directly in to the plumbing, you won’t have to worry about attaching and detaching hoses every time you want to do dishes or use your sink.

They also save space, as they are neatly and conveniently out of the way. If your home is equipped for one of these models, the only question remaining is which model to purchase.

All models have a limited one year parts and labor warranty.

Popular Under the Sink Models

GE offers three models of under sink dishwasher, though some come in different colors for a total of seven choices.

GSM2100G Dishwasher

The first dishwasher we will review is the GSM2100G, which comes in black on black(BB), white on white(WW), and bisque on bisque(CC).

Retailing at $549, this is one of your basic level dishwashers. While it may be basic, however, it still has quite a few features. With turn-to-start controls and dial progress indicators, this is a nice little machine.

It has 5 cycles and 12 options and does indeed have a food disposer. It has heated dry that can be turned on and off, a dial activated HotStart feature, and a standard center throw latch.

This dishwasher has a deluxe lower rack and a plate warmer and pots and pans setting. It features four pushbuttons and a rinse aid dispenser.

There is a rinse only option on this model as well. It is the only model with a short wash option. It has a deluxe silverware basket and has a steel door.

It is a spacemaker dishwasher and has the patented Spacemaker top rack. This dishwasher has 2 wash levels and uses the standard wash system.

It has a QuietPower motor and like all of the models featured in this article it has the PermaTuf tub and door liner.

GSM2200N Dishwasher

The second dishwasher is the GSM2200N. It is available in three colors, black on black(BB), white on white(WW), and bisque on bisque(CC). It also retails for $549, but has electronic controls and a few more features than the 2100.

With a 500 watt calrod heater and TouchTap controls, this is a nice little machine. It has 5 cycles and 2 options, and features GE’s patented Piranha Hard Food Disposer, which ensures that no spare food gets stuck to your dishes during washing.

It has all the features of the 2100 but with touchpads instead of pushbuttons. It also has some features not included on the 2100, such as the light wash option and self-cleaning filter system. It has a wash arm and four wash levels.

This model also uses the patented PowerScrub cleaning system. It provides 100% water filtration and has a GE QuietMotor. This dryer requires a kit in order to have ¼ inch panel capability.

GSM2260NSS Dishwasher

The third dishwasher model is the GSM2260NSS, which retails at $599. It is only available in Stainless Steel, which is actually one of its main features.

It has all of the same features and capabilities as the 2200 but is made of stainless steel in both body and door and has a black electronic control panel. The only other difference between the two models is that this dishwasher does not require a kit for ¼ inch panel capability.

GE Under the Sink Dishwasher Customer Opinions

As far as reviews go, the 2100 definitely gets high marks. With the exception of the typical complaints about cost, I could not really find too many complaints about the model.

One customer did feel that it does not hold enough large dishes at once. There are a number of customers who love the ease of use that comes with this model.

Everyone agreed that it got the dishes extremely clean, but some suggest rinsing off large amounts of food before washing. As for the 2200, there are few reviews available.

In general, the 2200 and 2260 both seem to get high marks, especially for ease of use and the level of performance.

Again the chief complaints are due to size restrictions, which will be uniform with all under sink dishwashers, as their dimensions are the same.

All in all customers seem to feel that GE offers a quality dishwasher, whether you opt for the pushbutton or touchpad model.
