Haier Dishwasher Model DWL3225DDWW

I purchased this dishwasher from a Lowe's store in Charlotte, NC in October, 2012. The manual clearly states that defective parts are warranted for a three year period (i.e. warranty good until October 2015). For the last several months I have been trying to get service on this unit through Haier's American Service Tracking (at the 800 number shown in the manual). The unit does not clean the dishes, especially those on the top rack and the water does not get hot enough. Initially, I was told that there was no authorized service tech in my area and that I should contact a service tech of my choice to ascertain the problem with the unit. I did this and my tech provided Haier with the information needed regarding the problems with the dishwasher. After several weeks with no contact from Haier, I contacted them again and was told that in order to honor the warranty, the work would have to be done by an authorized tech of their choice. I am totally disgusted as the nearest tech is 60 miles away from me and would charge $140 just to come check to unit to see what he thinks the problem is. Needless to say, I will never buy another Haier product as their warranty is not worth the paper it is written on! I am now faced with having to pay the tech I contacted at the instruction of Haier. I would gladly simply buy the parts and have them installed by my tech at this point but Haier will not make information available as to where the parts can be obtained. Beware if you are thinking about buying a Haier dishwasher. You may be stuck with something that cannot be repaired due to inaccessibility of parts and/or service technicians in your area.
