When we purchased our new home (1966 ranch), the Hotpoint dishwasher had just been installed new (2005) and had only been run to test the connections, so we were happy to have a new dishwasher for sure. The dishwasher is very bare-bones. No bells and whistles here.
Its got two wash settings (normal or pot and pans) and you can either heat dry or no dry. That is about it. It does have what it labels as "energy saver mode," but all that does is automatically put it on normal wash with no heat dry. All the buttons are push buttons--nothing digital. I have no real/legit complaints about this dishwasher.
It gets the job done. You need to rinse things before putting them in the machine and sometimes you must wash the dishes through two cycles to really get them clean, which is a bit of a waste, but is usually due to not rinsing the dishes well enough before loading and starting the dishwashing cycle. On some runnings, the second detergent bin has not opened, forcing me to re-run the load.
These are just basic things that will happen with a bottom of the line unit though. It is not what I would have personally purchased for the home, but, until it breaks down, it will do for my family.
