Tall Tub Design (Standard Interior Size), Energy Star, UltraWash System
For households with more than just a few members, it is important to have a dishwasher that will be able to accommodate many dishes and cups per cleaning cycle. Purchasing a large dishwasher should be the best option in this case. Fortunately, Kenmore has a product that specifically caters to this need. The Kenmore 1774 portable dishwasher is a large unit that combines the capacity to clean after big families with the portability that some kitchen setups require. This product simply provides the best of both worlds.
Interior Features
This model has nylon racks that protect your precious dishes from scratches. It also prevents rust from building up inside the washer.
The tall tub design of this model will accommodate large plates, pots, and other types of containers. The dishwasher also has a high-temperature wash option that effectively cleans stubborn residue from your dining items.
The interior tub is built from durable plastic that should maintain its form and obviously remain rust-free for years to come. The UltraWash system included in this model will clean all your dishes without damaging any of those items.
The unit has a quick wash feature that allows it to clean a full load of dishes and containers in approximately one hour. The unit also has the interior capacity comparable to a full size dishwasher, while retaining its portability.
Exterior Features
This model comes in two exterior finishes, white and black, that are both stylish and elegant. The dishwasher has a full set of exterior controls and indicators: you will have full control of the operation of the machine at all times.
The True Hold door holds the dishwasher door securely in place during operation and during loading and unloading.

After one could not get parts for my 1991 kenmore portable dishwasher, I now have a new model #1774 kenmore black portable dishwasher. It is 24" wide just like the 1991 model was. The biggest difference is that the controls are electronic unlike the older one that had a timer. My new #1774 is very nice. I run it a few times a week. The dishes come out very clean. I have a new Kenmore because the 1991 model served me so well for all of these years. Because my house is 50 yrs. old and the kitchen is shaped like it is, a portable dishwasher is the best bet. This way, I do not have to remodel to have a great dishwasher.
