Kenmore brand opinions and customer service

Several years ago, I think it was around 1998, my ex-husband and I were duped into buying a Kenmore Dishwasher at Sears, that just wasn't worth the $400 that we paid for it.
The dishwasher worked just fine, but as far as the price, it just wasn't that special. The dishes did get pretty clean. Even the ones that we threw in and didn't actually rinse off.
Now as far as stuck on food, it obviously had some difficulty with that, but not too many dishwashers can proudly claim to clean stuck on foods in one shot.
The only thing I didn't like about the dishwasher was it was a water hog. By that I mean it really wasn't energy efficient. Plus there was no way to keep it from not going through all of the cycles like, wash, rinse and dry without manually shutting it off.
Kind of inconvenient if you're not home when the dishwasher is running. Also the only setting for temperature was extremely hot. Another not-so energy efficient downfall.I must admit however, even after sitting on a back patio and in storage for several years, the dishwasher is still running. Pretty impressive, if you ask me.
