Kenmore Elite Double Drawer Dishwasher

by heidi
(memphis, tn)

We recently purchased a Kenmore Elite Double Drawer Dishwasher. We are extremely happy with this purchase. It is the same size as a normal loading dishwasher, but the drawers allow us to fit so many more dishes!

This dishwasher has tons of great features. If you have a smaller load, you can just fill the top drawer and you do not waste energy and water. It also has a quick wash cycle that only takes about thirty minutes from start to finish.

You do not have to pick just one cycle at a time either. You can run two different cycles at one time when needed. It truly does save time and money; it is energy star rated.

The racks are also adjustable to accommodate different sized dishes and glasses. The Kenmore Elite dishwasher does feature a child safety lock as well, although we really did not need this item at this point in our lives.

This dishwasher also looks great- it has a really sleek design. We chose the stainless steel finish, but there are other color options for this model.

The only negative thing about this dishwasher is the price. We paid about $1200 for the Kenmore Elite.

However, I truly believe this dishwasher will save us money in the long run.

Kenmore Elite

by adam

Over all, The Kenmore Elite Dishwasher is a so-so model, while It is good at removing loose dirt and debris from dishes, its rinse cycle occasionally is not powerful enough in my experience meaning that when I pull out the dishes, they sometimes have tiny bits of food or soap on them meaning that I have to hand wash some of them to get debris off.

On the other hand, the Kenmore Elite comes with a very useful smart wash feature which compensates for heavy loads by using more water and less for lighter loads. The main flaw that I see in the Kenmore Elite series is its sometimes frustrating inability to remove caked on stains unless they are hand washed before being put in the dishwasher which sometimes makes me wonder if it wouldn't be less trouble just to handwash all of my dishes to save me the trouble of dealing with soap covered dishes.

When new, the Kenmore Elite dishwashers are phenomenal and always cleaned my dishes perfectly no matter how heavily the food was caked on, but as this particular model ages, I have noticed that its weight sensor always thinks that its load is lighter than it really is and thus does not wash thoroughly enough to get off all of the grime on the load of dishes.

In conclusion, If you come across a Kenmore Elite for sale anywhere, I would not recommend buying it due to its unreliability with age and its irksome inability to get off caked on stains and chunks of whatever may be stuck on your plates.

Black Kenmore Elite 13169

by Sam Queen
(Baltimore, MD)

I bought the Black Kenmore Elite Dishwasher about three years ago from Sears and I would recommend it to everyone. I really liked that it came in black since that matches my kitchen.

Also I really like that it had Smartwash which senses the load size and soil level of the dishes and then it adjust the temperature and the timer of the load.

The last dishwasher I had leaked after a year or two and I have now had this dishwasher for three years and never once has it leaked.

Also something I really liked was it was High-efficiency so it saved on water and energy cost which really helps. It also is very, very quiet.

While it is running you can’t even tell it’s on. It has a display on the front that let’s you know when each cycle is done.

The only bad thing I will say is it does run a little longer then other dishwashers but it gets everything sparkling clean so it is well worth it, Also it holds so many dishes on both the top and bottom and still doesn’t miss a spot on a single dish.

I would highly, highly recommend this dishwasher to everyone. Four stars!!!!!

Kenmore Elite Model#665.16263400

by Laura
(Durham, NH USA)

We bought our house four years ago and have done a complete renovation on the kitchen which included new appliances. It had been a while since purchasing a new dishwasher so we read as many reviews as we could find in all price points.

From experience we have had good luck with the Sears Kenmore line and returned again for a new model this time at our local Sears store. The Kenmore Elite is a working families lifesaver when it comes to doing dishes. The racks on the top level adjust for regular glasses and have a nice flap that can hold wine glasses snug.

The bottom rack is easy to fill with bigger areas for pots and pans and bowls. The silverwear section has compartments for knives and can fit cooking utencils nicely. Teenagers can also load this machine easily and help the parents out. Options include a Quick Rinse cycle when there's not enough for a full load just to rinse them off if you were too busy to do it yourself and the load is not full yet.

The Smart Wash cycle is great if you need less than a full load washed. On special occasions the Pots/Pans and China cycle is very handy with special areas for both. Glasses come out sparkling after regular drying or the Heated Dry for quicker drying time. The best part of this Kenmore is the Quiet Guard 7 in that you can run the washer in an open area with activities going on and hardly hear this machine.

The Kenmore Elite comes in a stainless steel finish, is affordable, and does as good a job if not better than the other pricey dishwashers on the market. This has been a very reliable machine for us with three and a half years of use so far and no problems.

I would highly recommend this Kenmore to anyone who wants a stylish hard working quiet dishwasher.

Kenmore Elite Quiet Guard UltraWash Deluxe

by Jenna
(Seattle, WA)

My husband and I replaced our old circa 1985 dishwasher with the new Kenmore Elite machine. It was a world of difference. Our new Kenmore has been doing an amazing job.

I no longer open the door to find stuck on dirt and crunchy bits in my cups. The drawers are nice in that they can be raised or lowered or even removed altogether.

The load size is incredible also. I can usually fit 2-3 days or more in the dishwasher at a time. Large pans fit on either the top shelf or the bottom shelf.

The only thing that is a little bit off is that you have to be careful to load the dishes to allow the little soap dispenser door to flip open.

Overall, I love the dishwasher. I love the convenient features - the sanitization option, smart wash...they are all fabulous. I highly recommend this machine.

Kenmore Elite 24 in. Elite® Built-In Dishwasher w/ Ultra Wash HE Filtration

We just purchased this 3 months ago. It replaced an old, noisy Whirlpool. We love our new Kenmore Elite Dishwasher.

Why we love it:

Very quiet. We had to keep checking to see if it was actually running.

Very Sleek. Our kitchen is very modern with all upgraded black appliances. This has all the controls in the door so it looks very clean and modern

Delay Wash. You can program it to start up to 6 hours later. I usually load and set it after dinner to run while we sleep. Energy prices are cheaper then.

Stainless Steel Tub: Very big and easy to load
Smart Wash: A cool bit of technology that senses how big the load is and what the soil level of the dishes are. The dishwasher then uses that information so it only uses the amount of water and energy needed to get that load clean. There's no wasting water.

The only thing that could make me love this dishwasher anymore was if it had a cycle countdown. Sometimes if I run it during the day I like to know how much time is left on the cycle. That is very minor but would be a nice feature.

Other than that I would definitely recommend this model to anyone who is looking for a dishwasher that gets dishes spotless and that looks great and is super quiet.

Kenmore Elite- Sears! DO NOT BUY!

by Stephanie Lozon
(Owen Sound, ON, Canada)

I spent $1200 on each dishwasher. I wanted 2 of them in my new home, as we entertain quite a bit. I asked my Sears Representative to find us the best machine, as we wanted something reliable and efficient.
BOY oh BOY!

What lemons!

I kept the warranty on them, as they have been NOTHING but problems. Not to mention Sears has been horrible to us. Lets just say that 3 yrs later, extended warranty up to date at all times, 300 phone-calls ( not kidding) $360 later ( out of my own pocket!) I am STILL Hand-washing my dishes.

I thought about taking them to court, but in the end, it might cost us more with lawyer fee's.

I am at the end of my rope. SO we bought a cheap model dishwasher from Home Depot in the meantime ( still fighting with Sears to replace these lemons) and the cheap one we installed ourselves works great! HOME DEPOT. $400.

Imagine that!?

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!

Atek Appliance repair practically LIVES in my house...they are here atleast once a week!

Kenmore Elite 24 in. Double Drawer Dishwasher w/ Sliding & Variable Position Tines

by Shannon
(Bethel, mn)

I am probably not very picky when it comes to a dishwasher, just really happy its not named Shannon anymore.

I have to say though that my parents recommended the Kenmore Elite 24 in. Double Drawer Dishwasher after having negative experiences with quite a few dishwasher. The Kenmore Elite is a Energy Star rated machine, using less electric to run and less water.

All in all a very efficient machine that actually cleans the dishes when you tell it too. No food stuck to the plates, no spots on the glasses. Its a quite runner, and has two slide out drawers so you can just as easily do a few small items or fill that baby up and it will come out clean either way. I don't fully understand how the dishwasher works but somehow it can tell how dirty your dishes are and adjusts its cleaning time accordingly.

The only thing I know for sure is that I love it and my parents who still have 4 kids at home are just as happy as I am. I am glad that they recommended it or I may not have ended up with this one. I would happily recommend this one to any of my friends or family.

Kenmore Elite

by Deb H
(New Mexico)

This is the most efficient dishwasher I have ever owned. It is also the quietest. I have been known to get up from the couch to check that it is really running. I can actually stand next to it and have a normal conversation or talk on the phone and never have an issue with sound. In fact I can barely hear it.

I grew up with Kenmore appliances and have always found them to be reliable. When I bought my new house I knew I would remodel the kitchen. I did shop around but I found that Kenmore appliances still offered excellent quality and good value which is a hard combination to beat. The Sears service and installation was great and the sales people were not pushy. They were able to explain the features of the dishwasher to me clearly and to compare it with other models.

My dishes always come out clean and spotless. I use the Smart Wash setting for almost every load I do and the results save water and give me clean dishes every time. For pots and pans or dishes that have been allowed to sit for a while, the Turbo Wash setting works like a dream.

I have never had a dishwasher that worked this well before. I especially can not believe how quiet it is. My stove and refrigerator are also Kenmore Elite models and I like them a lot, but none as well as this dishwasher. If I were assigned the job of inventing the perfect dishwasher, this would be it. The only thing it is missing is the ability to load and unload itself.

Kenmore Elite

The Kenmore Elite dishwasher is a solid choice for your home. It runs whisper quiet, while delivering sparkling clean dishes. It is so quiet that you may find yourself with an uncontrollable urge to open the door and make sure it is running. Go ahead, treat yourself. You'll find water and steam flying in every direction.

The Kenmore Elite is an elegant, low profile dishwasher. I know. You're thinking, "it's a dishwasher. how can it be elegant?" Well, the only thing exposed on the door of the dishwasher is a sleek handle and three tiny light bulbs that let you know the status of your dishwasher. It's a very sleek look, one that will even inspire you to show your new dishwasher to friends.

The control panel is on the top of the dishwasher door, and features enough options for you to customize every aspect of the washing cycles. Such options include; which spray jets you would like to use, would you like to steam sanitize the dishes, what level of heat would like to use both to wash and to dry the dishes, and there is a wide range of wash cycles from which to chose.

All in all, the Sears, Kenmore Elite dishwasher is the best dishwasher I've ever owned, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Kenmore Elite

I purchased this 18 months ago and the dispenser for the drying agent does not work? I have followed the instructions with pointing the internal arrow left and right but it makes no difference. The glasses all come out dry with a white film over them.

Does anyone have any suggestions...Sears wants $100.00 to send out someone to LOOK at the problem, more if they are required to fix it!

Elite dishwasher and Kenmore not good for me

by Dawn Kesteloot
(Algonac, MI)

I purchased this dishwasher 2 1/2 years ago. It has turbo wash and smart wash options. I never use any wash except for normal.

The extra options are useless to me. I absolutely am telling you not to buy from Sears Kenmore elite products. I bought all my appliances brand new 2 1/2 years ago.

And since then my washing machine has broke down (Kenmore elite G4), my ice maker has broke down (Kenmore elite), and my dishwasher will not empty the detergent from the detergent holder and my dishes do not come out clean at all. Also the Kenmore elite dryer is horrible as it wrinkles all the clothes and you have to dry things more than once.

Trust me, go with another brand and don't think the more it costs the better. I'm still paying off my appliances and have more than my share of problems.

Kenmore Elite Ultra Wash Dishwasher

by Pat
(Ohio)

This dishwasher vents to the side. The steam has destroyed my cherry cabinet. Sears would do nothing to fix the problem to deflect the steam away from the cabinet. This is a design problem.

Also, you cannot tell where you are in the wash cycle. This dishwasher actually runs for 2 to 3 hours and does not display the time remaining. It is a shame because I loved the Lady Kenmore machine. I would not purchase any Sears dishwasher. I wasted $1400!!!!

Kenmore Elite

by Tim
(Victoria B.C.)

We paid $700.00 CDN for this unit from Sears in Victoria, B.C.. It washed well for a year and a half, just long enough to get past the warranty.

I pulled out the pump assembly and cleaned it out and got another 4 months of use but finally the pump just died. We got the stainless tub as I thought it would hold up better. Tub was fine, its the cheap plastic pump components that are the weak link.

I went to both Sears outlets in town and got the "oh that's too bad" routine with a recommendation to buy the same type with a mascerator for $750.00 (on sale, reg. price is 949.99). I checked all the Kenmore Elite products and they seem to have the identical internal components as mine.

The cutlery baskets are also cheap and break and my truck runs quieter than this machine ever did. I'm not exaggerating. I have read reviews for everything else and am scratching my head trying to figure out what to buy next.

I could buy a new dishwasher for $350.00 and if it lasts a year and a half I'm no further ahead or behind. I guess doing them by hand would work too. Let's see 1 scrub brush at $5.00 and a year supply of soap at say $50.00. Hmmmm that's a lot left over for a few cases of wine.
