Kenmore Smartwash Quietguard

I purchased this dishwasher when the original one put in the house stopped working. This is a great dishwasher. One of my favorite features is the programmable hour of operation. I can set it to wash within 2, 4, or 8 hours after loading. This is great because i can run the dishwasher at night when its cheaper on electricity. It also has keypad lock for kids, thank goodness, that is a huge help in my house.

The dishwasher gets the dishes spotless as well, with the use of cascade liquid detergent. It recommends using the liquid detergent versus the powder. I haven't had any problems with stuck on food or spots. It is also very quiet. It comes with different programmable options for washing the dishes and rinsing the dishes, such as pots/pans, sani rinse, air dry, or smart wash.

The sani rinse feature is pretty cool because it actually sanitizes the dishes with extremely high heat, so if you have someone sick in the family you can simply use this setting to get rid of the germs off the dishes.

If you are not sure how big the load is of your dishes, you can put the dishwasher on smartwash and it will sense the size of the load and wash accordingly. I love that feature.

The only negative thing i would have to say about the dishwasher is that it seems to take a little while to wash the dishes if you happen to put it on a special cycle.

Pros:
- Runs very quietly
- Stylish/looks nice

Cons:
- Leaves food on dishes
- Tubes clog easily
- Food trap is hard to clean

This dishwasher is only a couple of years old and we have had constant issues with it not cleaning properly. I rinse the dishes very well before I place them in the washer and that doesn't seem to matter at all. The tubes coming out into the drain are too small and they get clogged easily. We have had to unclog them many times over the last couple of years.

Then you have the issue with the water spray. The direction of the water spray makes it to where if the dishes are not placed right in the washer the water only sprays one side of the dish. If the spray were to have more force to it I think it would work a lot better even with the same amount of water.

The food trap is a mess to clean and no matter how much you scrub it, there is always places that do not come clean. Then after cleaning the trap I have to bleach it out the inside because it starts to smell bad.

They should have some kind of a dishwasher cleaner. Like oven cleaner but for dishwashers. This would make things much better I am sure. I would not recommend this dishwasher to anyone. Even if they could only afford this one I would tell them to hand wash your dishes.

This dishwasher does not cost very much which is the only plus. I think the quality is definitely lacking in this product due to that. I would much rather spend a bit more and have a dishwasher that I will not have to mess with all the time.

The last issue I have with this dish washer is that the buttons are hard to push on the front. They look like easy pushable buttons but often times I have to push them more than once to get it to work.

The buttons are also ugly and have no style. The font used on the front should be more decorative as you look at it every day. Over all this thing horrible. I hate it and I would never buy another.
