I have this machine and had the repairman out a number of times, finally I figured out what he was doing. Turn off the power at the fuse box. I bought a special head screw driver to remove the 6 screws. Remove, the cover. I just let it hang down. There is a black cover that is easily removed by depressing 3 plastic hinge type things. One on the left and two on the right of the black cover. Then notice a flat cable that is easily pulled out. I usually leave it out about 10 min and then reinsert it. Always fixes the problem, but a nuisance. I have to do this every few months or so.

resetting computer by: Anonymous
Please could you share how to reset your dishwasher's computer? I've just today had the same problem - flashing clean light - and yours is the first post I've read. Thanks. I'll continue searching for a solution, since Sear's service fee sounds astronomical.

Bah! Just AWFUL by: Anonymous
Our Kenmore Ultra Wash Quietguard 4 was newly installed when we bought our house 3 years ago. At that time, it had never been used--still had the samples and tags inside. Just over a year in, we had the computer malfunction others have noted: flashing 'clean' light. We had the tech come out ($140 just to step through our front door), and he showed us how to reset the computer. We have had to do that intermittently (every third wash or so) until about a year later when the washer wouldn't cycle unless we interrupted and restarted the cycle early in the run. That worked until just this week, when the washer just would not start. Period.
I'll give it this: it sure IS QUIET ('cause, you know, it won't run).
What a waste. We've researched our options, and it will cost more to repair this piece of junk than it will to but a new machine (with fewer bells and whistles, if we can find such a thing).

Not pleased by: Anonymous
I bought this 4 years ago, ok almost five. It never really worked that great. I wish I could say it did since it is supposed to be better with the stainless and all but I am constantly cleaning off stuff from the dishes if not putting them back in for another cycle. The last one I owned was a kenmore too which was great. Would still get another one, but never this one again.

After a few years...just doesn't hold up by: CoachCarol
The washer has performed okay. However we've recently had the 'flashing clean' light and found online how to reset the control/light board. Once that is done, it will wash only one load...and not well. We are researching more but have found it may be a failed heater coil.
Bottom line, for a mid-line model I guess I shouldn't expect it to last more than 5 years.

Not a consistant machine by: Anonymous
If I have not mistaken, I bought my dishwasher from Sears. I have had it for about 4 years. It is a decent dishwasher, but sometimes it just does not get everything it should. I think that Kenmore is a good product, but I really think that this product could be a little better. I am sure though that it is better than all of the other dishwashers I have owned. It is reliable, but sometimes the washers might get blocked by a dish and not be able to clean everything inside the dishwasher. I think the worst problem is that it will not clean the cups that well if they have been sitting out for two or three days. Also, another problem might be the dishwashing liquid I use, but I do not think that is the problem.
I think that it is still good though. Compared to others washers, it is good for the price that I bought it for. The thing is that I do not plan to pay over five hundred dollars for just a dishwasher. I do not use it a whole lot either. Another thing is that the dishes in the front and in the top do not get washed all that well, but most of the time it is just a flake on the dish.
Overall, I would give the dishwasher I have now a five out of ten. If it would be more consistent with how well it washed I would give it an eight.
