Kitchen Aid Quietscrub

I had this installed over 10 years ago and it has only needed to be repaired twice. I have no trouble fitting a family of four's dishes from multiple meals in it and its pretty quiet too.

I don't need to pre-treat or scrub anything unless it is something like dried oatmeal. It has quite a few features that I have only just recently discovered and started using.

I honestly think that this dishwasher saves more water than just keeping the sink on and scrubbing and rinsing everything piece by piece and to be honest it is a heck of a lot easier.

It was a little pricey compared to some of the other models available but I guess when you get a decade's worth of work out of it, it sort of pays itself off.

A few of the teeth have rusted/ broke off on the bottom rack from abuse and moisture. The energy saver dry is pretty handy too. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Runs like a charm
by: Tapas on wheels

We load this model almost every day without pre rinsing.
It cleans like a charm with Cascade ExtraAction brand blocks. No extra chemicals needed to avoid calcium stains on wine glasses etc. as long as items placed on tilt for proper drainage.

Filter cleaning: when i first looked and took som lower parts out, i did not really see a cleanable filter and put the ring back. However, because of reviews elsewhere i found out there is a filter built in. Machine cleans fine but filter has never been cleaned and i want to avoid problems and keep the system run most efficient. This procedure seems to require special screw bits but other then that nothing one can't handle with one right hand.

Cheers.

Any maintenance tips?
by: Rob

Ours came with the house 6 1/2 yrs ago, has been no problem, but has begun making a high-pitched whine during cycles recently. it also stopped mid-cycle and had to be fiddled with to restart, but has been fine since.

Any maintenance I can do to avoid a repairman's visit?
