Customer Opinions - Advantages and Disadvantages

Most reviews we found were from people who mainly bought this item based on the KitchenAid name and reputation. Since this model is a bit more expensive, many people also thought that meant they were buying a quality item. Unfortunately, the KitchenAid KUDC10IXWH seems to have fallen short on both counts.

Most people (even the ones who were unsatisfied) liked the clean looks of the design, and the sleek, durable appearance of the stainless steel interior. They mostly agreed that it ran fairly quiet, and could fit a large load of dishes with its tall tub.

However, the issues plaguing this model overruled the few positives we found. Several consumers reported serious repair problems (motor/electronics burn out within 2 years). There were also design problems inside; the top rack comes dislodged from track with a full load, and never really seems sturdy. Many reported that no matter which wash cycle is chosen, the dishes won’t come clean.

But, by far, the most commonly reported problem was the over-sensitivity of the control panel. If the door is latched and the panel is even just gently brushed, the wash will turn on. This extreme sensitivity of the controls was a major issue for many consumers.

What does this mean for you?

Admittedly, the KitchenAid name is generally reliable, and this model looks very expensive. It actually is pretty expensive, at upwards of almost $700. But considering the nature and consistency of the reported problems, it might not be the best $700 purchase you could make.
