LG LDF7932ST Fully Integrated Steam Dishwasher

Consumers have said that LG's line of steam-based dishwashers are effective in cleaning their dining collections. The reason for this feedback is that most consumers are used to the traditional water-based dishwasher. Now that they have tried using steam washers, there's no reason to go back. While there are many options out there for a steam dishwasher, a good brand to start with is LG. The LDF7932ST SteamDishwasher should fit your requirements quite nicely.

Key features

- This unit cleans by gently blowing steam to your plates and utensils, slowly but effectively cleaning them in the process.
- It can clean up to 16 place settings in one load, saving you time and effort.
- The unit has custom settings to adapt to varying needs: from inexpensive plastic products to your precious china or crystal collection.
- The LDF7932ST dishwasher is engineered with superior insulation, keeping you and your family undisturbed during operation.
- The intuitive interface of this product gives you easy access to all its features instantly.

Advantages

The LG LDF7932ST dishwasher is an effective cleaning appliance for any home. Whether you're just cleaning up after your family meal or after a big house party, this dishwasher will be up to the task and ready for your needs. One thing you will immediately notice after you start using it is the fact that it's incredibly quiet. It is so quiet that, depending on your home environment, you might not even hear it running. Then, once you start using it, you'll be pleasantly surprised as to how effectively it cleans your dishes and dining ware. Not only that, the steam inside the dishwasher is actually hot enough to kill most bacteria and viruses, leaving your dishes and utensils REALLY clean. You will finally notice that, unlike a traditional dishwasher, you don't need to “pre-wash” your dishes. Just scrape off the excess food, place it inside the appliance and you're good to go! This is definitely a feature-packed dishwasher that you should purchase for your home.

Disadvantages

Since this dishwasher looks and operates unlike a traditional one, it might be intimidating to service and maintain by both owners and technicians. This is quite understandable, considering the amount of new technology built into products like this. Following this line of thought, technology inside this dishwasher can be deemed untested and might be more prone to breakdowns than an old-school mechanical dishwasher. Of course, the way you use and maintain this appliance will go a long way towards keeping it operational, but the possibility of unexpected failure will always be there. Finally, compared to a water-based washer, steam-based appliances like this model will be slightly more expensive.

Consumer likes and dislikes

Pros

- Clean design: easy on the eyes
- Works very quietly
- Cleans very effectively
- Runs very efficiently
- The steam-cleaning process clears your dishes and utensils of harmful microbes
- Can hold a boatload of dishes and glasses
- Dishes and stemware of different sizes can be accommodated by the unit

Cons

- Untested reliability
- Slightly more expensive than traditional dishwashers

trouble started after a month NEW
by: George Hollis IV

I bought this LG dishwasher from the Home Depot in Mobile, AL. December of 2008. I would have to say the $1000 price tag was steep, but my wife just had to have this dishwasher. When I purchased the dishwasher it was delivered immediately to my house and installed the next day.

It worked fine for about a month and then it started having some troubles with the dryer vent. I called LG's service center and they had a very friendly technician call me the next day. Although I was a little upset with the new dishwasher I bought already having problems, the repair guy was at my house that day to repair it.

I was impressed with LG's customer service. What I love about this dishwasher is that it is very quiet, I don't even notice when the unit is running, unlike my old dishwasher. It dries the dishes very well at the end of the cycle and gives your dishes a sanitary, clean wash.

It also has a steam cycle you can select, if you so desire. My old Kenmore washing machine was loud, obnoxious and at it's best: somewhat user-friendly. This dishwasher has made my wife happy; therefore I'm happy too. I would have loved to have been able to purchase this at a better price, I would suggest maybe $750.

I have researched around a little bit and it seems that LG has a positive track record of customer loyalty, which gives me peace of mind about my new machine.

I purchased the extended warranty just in case anything goes wrong after the 1 year warranty is over. In a way I hope that I have to use it, but in another way I hope I don't. I suggest when purchasing a machine, regardless of what type, purchase additional coverage. Even if you never end up needing to use it.

disappointed NEW
by: Anonymous

I am extremely disappointed in this dishwasher. I read reviews (including Consumer Reports) and chose the LG based on that information. The dishwasher does not do a good job cleaning and leaves my glassware with spots and a milky residue (despite using a rinse agent).

In addition, there are food particles caked on to the flatware and bowls after each use. I called and talked to a customer service rep who told me I needed to use a powder dish detergent rather than a gel and to make sure my water temp was 120 degrees.

After doing so, the results were still terrible and I plan to call back and voice my displeasure. The dishwasher looks good and is quiet but cleaning the dishes is the most important feature and it that regard this dishwasher fails.

my big mistake NEW
by: Paula

This dishwasher is the biggest mistake I've ever made. There is no heating element during the drying cycle and my dishes are never dry unless I dry them. The inside of this dishwasher has never been completely dry since the first time I used it.

Worse than that is that it stinks. It smelled the first time I used it and it has never gotten any better. I had to take the dishes out of the dishwasher and wash and dry them by hand to get the smell out. I quit using a 1 week old, $800+ product because the dishwasher and my dishes stink and are never dry.

i like it NEW
by: lois

Before I got married, my fiancée knew that I could cook him a sumptuous mean anytime of the day, there was only one problem though. Cleaning the dishes. So it was not a wonder when we eventually got married and had to move into a bigger house that he bought me a dish washer as one of the many presents that he gave me.

I was very elated by his choice of dishwasher. He had gotten me an LG fully integrated steam dish washer. Its model is LDF7932ST. What more could a dotting wife ask for.

This LG steam dish washer has been very helpful in my kitchen. It has a very spacious stainless tub. It has a double intensity wash cycle and a signal light. It also has an inbuilt food disposer so I don’t have to first rinse the dishes before loading them in the washer. It is stainless steel dish washer.

It is fitted with a 16 place setting making it very easy and fast to clean my dishes. It also has a steam delicate cycle. It is a dual intensity wash cycle machine with 7 wash cycles and 3 spray arms with whole 7 options and so I am always assured that my dishes come out sparkling clean.

The LG steam dish washer is also equipped with a 24 delay start up. It has 16 place settings with an adjustable upper rack system with a one touch 2” height. A 12” and 14”dishes and stemware rack. It has folding tines 2 rows on top rack and 2 rows on bottom rack. It also has removable tines 2 rows on bottom rack. It has a stem ware holder. It also has 3 detachable baskets with covers for cutlery and also a cup rack.

It has a child lock, a rinse aid refill indicator, extra rinse, multi level water direction, food disposer, and detergent and rinse aid dispenser. Its drying system is amazing. It has an end of cycle indicator, water heater, an overflow detector; it has a door insulation thus saving a lot of energy for me.

The LG integrated dish washer also comes with a time remaining indicator. It comes with a 1 year labour, 2 year parts and 5 year limited on control board and rack parts warranty. The stainless steel and liner is a lifetime guarantee. The price is every bit worth the service and quality of this amazing dish washer. What more would a loving wife ask for in the kitchen.

It worked great after it was repaired NEW
by: Anonymous

Had to have it repared twice for the same problem,it started having problems after 3 months. The same guy came out twice and was so sick of replacing the parts as the dishwasher had to be nearly dismantled both times-- plus, the first time he had ordered the wrong part and in the repair process broke another part(we had bought an extended waranty)The second time he came out he replaced the broken part and replaced the correct part.He put the dishwasher back and left--i noticed that one side was higher than the other by an inch.Called him out again,by that time he was fed up with coming out,so he pushed, shoved, and left and it was still tipping to one side.Rather than call the guy back(really bad attitude)my husband pulled it out, redid the screws and pushed it back in,adjusted the four feet on the bottom, hes not repair inclined but he adjusted it perfect. Can we say duh!It cleans gteat,is quiet, plays a little tune when its done, the dishes are super sparkly--the setting i use that works best for me is to-- Push power scrub, then push sanitary rinse, then push steam--tried diff settings and this works the best and dishes are shiny and clean without any spots--i use cascade powder and jet dry liquid for the rinse agent. With the other settings the dishes werent clean etc so the setting above worked perfect and dishes sparkly, dry, and no spots on anything including glasses

Lifes Gunk NEW
by: Deb

We paid $1000 for this dishwasher. Had repair peole here 3 times. LG is not Life's Good, but Life's Gunk as that is what is left on the dishes after using this dishwasher and what their customer service and repair people are like. Where to even start. First, they told us it was the dishwasher soap we were using and to run hot water in the sink before using the DW. That didn't help, then the second repair person told us nothing was wrong with the unit, it was working as designed.

Called Tech Service line to complain and they said the problem was that we weren't washing the dishes before we put them in the DW. WTF, for $1000 it should clear the table, rinse the dishes, and load the dishwasher. Tech Service sent the repair person back to our home and replaced a part. Repair person had to borrow towels to lay in front of dishwasher, some tools, and my husband had to loosen the connection from them. Unbelievable.

DW still doesn't get dishes clean. Since LG doesn't seem to want to fix the DW or replace it, I'm left with taking them to small claims court.

Do yourself a favor and choose another brand. One with decent products, customer service and repair people.

Junk NEW
by: Anonymous

Piece of junk. Just less than 2 months old and the LG technician here 4 times & changed 3 parts for the same problem. He was never able to fix it. It was only after the store that I purchased it from got involved that LG finally agreed to replace the unit---4 weeks later.

I should have learned my lesson after my first LG dishwasher that they replaceed after 6 months because it kept leaking.

LG may stand for "Life's Good" but they were not speaking of the consumer.

too much trouble NEW
by: Anonymous

I had tall tub LG dishwasher. I had lots of trouble with it after 10 month of purchasing trouble began. Trouble from drying to sop dispensing, after the wash sop still sitting in the dispenser. Thanks to extended warranty, technicians came and replace every electronics in the washer. Finally, they gave up and refund full amount to buy another dishwasher so I bought a different brand after a 1year. same thing happened to my friend with same brand. I paid ~=$1400.

Few disadvantages NEW
by: Anonymous

I'm pleased with how well my dishwasher washes. Drying takes extra time though. A few disadvantages; The bottom tray often gets jammed when I roll it back in. This happens inconsistently. Wine glasses do not dry very well. They are often left spotty from tine marks. My plates don't sit well between the tines; they often fall over.

The LG 24” Steam Dishwasher is the best thing since sliced bread and the fall of the Berlin wall NEW
by: Anonymous

Pros
- Very silent while running
- Huge washing space with no central sprayer

Cons
- Hard to install, or so my husband says
- Pricey but worth it

The LG 24” Steam Dishwasher is the best thing since sliced bread and the fall of the Berlin wall. Well, maybe not the Berlin wall, but pretty close. I bought this thing a few months ago while remodeling my kitchen. My husband refused to allow me to replace my old Bosch dishwasher at first, but women have their ways.

He broke down after I refused to do the dishes or cook him dinner. After spending a good 4 hours at my local appliance shop, I found my dishwasher. It was oversized, no central sprayer, and was stainless. I know I shouldn’t have allowed my judgment to be swayed because of the finish, but I’m happy I picked it.

Later that day it was delivered and my husband was ready to install it. Installing it ourselves wasn’t too hard, but my husband complained. The pipes have to be lined up just right or you have to drill new holes to get the plumbing to fit. The install took about 3 hours, normally one hour if you have a plumber do it.

After everything was installed, I used it for the first time. I normally would have a speck of dirt here or there left by the old machine, but not this one. Everything was clean, even the burned on chicken from last night. I noticed that the machine was quite silent even though most machines say they are, but never deliver.

You also can also shift the two slide out drawers so you can fit large items in the bottom. The only thing I have to complain about was the price, but it was worth it in the end.
