Maytag JetClean II MDB6701AW Dishwasher

Maytag JetClean II series model number MDB6701AW Pros: The dishwasher is surprisingly quite. The drying cycle is incredibly effective, leaving the dishes completely dry. Cons: The dryer is surprisingly energy inefficient, and my energy bill strongly suffers. The utensil rack is flimsy and cheap looking. Rating on a scale of 1 to 5: 3 out of 5 The Maytag JetClean II series is a sturdy and dependable dishwasher.

I have owned the appliance for 18 months and have not had a single problem with it's operation. The washing cycle is quick and effective, and the drying cycle works remarkably well. Conversely, the dishwasher's utensil rack is of lackluster construction, resembling more of a flimsy conglomeration of plastic than useful accessory. The machine itself performs well, and I commend it's superior noise reduction capabilities, but it's energy consumption is extraordinary.

The energy bill for my residence increased by nearly 20% after the purchase of the machine, and has remained at this elevated level, even without frequent use. I find this dishwasher to be of great quality for it's price point, but with it's lackluster accessories package and exorbitant energy consumption, I would urge the savvy shopper to look for a more economical solution to dish care.

Not Built To Last NEW
by: Mark

This dishwasher was installed in the new house we bought. It worked good at first. After 1.5 years of use, it started to make loud grinding sounds throughout its cycle. Also the food started to be left behind on the dishes and would not clean them unless they were put in clean. Did we get a lemon or is this a common thing with all of these models. Would not recommend it to anyone.

never buy another NEW

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!

I owned this dishwasher for the past 18 month, and it has never worked well.

We replaced our 15-year-old no name dishwasher with this model, because the racks (on the old one) were rusty, and it didn't clean properly anymore.

I did loads of research and finally decided on this Maytag model, at a price of $ 700.- (and Tax). It seemed like a great dishwasher, with extra spray arm, time delay, great program selection...

But you don't always get what you pay for.
It never had proper cleaning power, when it was fully - and correctly - loaded. We tried every dishwasher detergent available, but it made no difference.
Now we only run it 3/4 full, and add an extra squirt of bleach, and the results are somewhat better.

About 3 month ago, it started making a grinding noise, when it was running. My husband (handy with tools and appliances) disassembled the bottom spray arm, and found pieces of plastic had broken off from the dishwasher and were now causing the noise. We removed the plastic pieces, it quieted the dishwasher, but did not improve performance.

There was a recall on the dispenser, which has been taken care of. And I don't have an issue with recalls, they do happen unfortunately.
I have an issue with putting your name to a piece of junk and deceiving customers.

I will never buy another Maytag again.
