Maytag Legacy Series Quiet Series 300

DO NOT buy this model. I have been having most of the same problems described here, unbeknownst that they were common issues.

Almost from day one we were getting poor results. The dishes would come out clean enough - no grit, etc. - but within a week of having it the glasses came out cloudy and streaked. We tried everything, but to no avail. I do admit we have hard water in our area, but the previous dishwasher that came with the house always produced sparkling clean glasses until at the age of 17 the motor just gave out.

Then the grinding noises started. And the gritty sandy residue on glasses and plates. This week the control panel failed. This morning I was researching what could be wrong with it when I ran across this site and felt an instant camraderie with all the other people who have also posted about this dishwasher.

I had called a repair service to come look at it tomorrow but just called and cancelled it and have decided to go out and buy a new one. I am loathe to replace a 2.5 year old dishwasher, but I want this POS out of my kitchen NOW.
