Maytag Quietseries 300, Model MDB8600AWW

I am a Realtor / property manager who has dealt with more than my share of dishwashers. Several years ago, I installed a Maytag Quietseries 300 dishwasher in my home. From the start, I was not impressed by the time it took to run a load of dishes, nor was I impressed with the cleaning quality.

About a year after installation, internal parts began breaking and falling off. First, the clips that hold the plate racks in place broke and fell off. I reassembled the plate racks using plastic zip ties. Then the rolling track mechanism on the middle rack began to jam and stick. About a month ago, the tab that holds the detergent door in place broke off.

The final straw was when, last week, the middle spray arm dropped completely off the middle rack !

I will never buy another Maytag product, whether for my home or one of the units I manage. In addition, if one of my real estate clients looks at a home with Maytag appliances, I will recommend that they make replacement of the appliances a part of their offer !
