"...so quiet I hardly know it's on."
|We live in a one-room loft, so it was very important to me to have a quiet dishwasher. When the guys installing it ran a test wash, I didn't even know the machine was on. I was ecstatic. I read comments saying that this dishwasher didn't dry well, so I use the "Sanitize" button during each wash, and everything is dry and perfectly clear (I use the Finish rinse that came with the machine, and glasses come out crystal-clear). I believe this is the least expensive of the Bosch dishwashers, so I feel I got an excellent value. ~AJMadison customer |
|Just purchased this Bosch dishwasher because I loved the look of it --both on the outside (stainless steel) and the inside capacity. I heard that Bosch was a good brand so I though I would give it a try. I did find that the spaces between the twines are narrow and are only good for plates like Corelle dinner plates (which I own), but would not fit any heavier type plates. I was told that this is because it is a European design element.
I gave it a 4-Star rating because the one thing I DO NOT like is the dishwasher does not shut off on it's own --you have to physically turn it off. This is an annoying feature that I will have to get used to, probably for safety reasons-- so no turning it on and going to bed at night.~Sears customer
|The fact that you have to "turn off" the machine to stop the flashing runway lights is still a mystery to me. It does do a great job at washing dishes, so it definitely does what it's supposed to there and it's as quite as you might expect for the price. However, the small capacity, the user functionality, and somewhat gaudy control panel design make for a real let down.~Sears customer |
|Super product. Dishes sparkle and the dishwasher is so quiet you have to put your ear to the door to make sure it's still on! This was recommended by two different appliance repairmen who say it's a very reliable workhorse. I'm a believer.~AppliancesConnection customer |
|I bought this diswasher last year and its quieter than my old bosch. Has all the features I wanted and good value. ~AJMadison customer |
|It doesn't wash dishes. 80% of the time the detergent tab is still in the detergent tray. I rinse my dishes before putting them into a dishwasher but when I pull them out what little was left after I rinse is still there. I put my holiday dishes in that had dust on them. I pull them out after the load was done the dust is still on each plate and cup, but now baked in. ~Amazon customer |
1. Washes dishes well.
2. Supposedly saves water (not sure if I can check this claim, so I am taking it as is)
3. Supposedly saves energy cause it's not using dry-heat at the end of the cycle but rather FINISH rinse agent (more on it in #3 of Cons)
4. Nice looks and easy to operate. Mainly use the AUTO wash - set it and forget it. Also we use 3hr delay so we don't get bothered with noise (later about the noise).
1. It is much smaller than other dishwashers we have owned and/or operated (primarily Kenmoore and Whirlpool). I think this Bosch's basic model was made smaller on purpose to make you buy a more advanced washer that is sized properly. For a family of 3, we turn the dishwasher on at least every other day, sometomes daily (when we have guests and such)
2. Maybe I got a defective dishwasher, but mine is NOT QUITE. Again, I compare with kenmoores and whirlpools that I have used and/or owned. We set the 3-hr delay so that in the evening we can watch the TV in the living room without having to turn the volume up. ~Amazon customer
|I bought this dish washer about 3 weeks ago. It's okay. I thought it did an okay job cleaning the dishes although it does't dry them very well. Runs very quite. My problem with the dishwasher is it has an on/off switch. I don't like that because you have to be home to turn it off. I prefer dishwashers that automatically turn themselves off when the washing cycle is complete. I recommend it only if you don't mind having to turn it off after each use.~Lowes customer |
|Love this dishwasher! It is quiet, all you can hear is the water sloshing around a little bit, not annoying by any means and we live in a very small house. Gets your dishes clean and they come out dry if you use the sanitize option.~Lowes customer|
|I am liking it so far and recommend it.
What's great about it: great value
What's not so great: heated drying - there is a sanitize option but have not used it so far~Bestbuy customer |
|If pressed to pick nits I suppose we would probably give the Bosch's lower rack 4 out of 5 stars. The design works great for plates and silverware but bowls don't seem as convenient to load - or at least not as convenient as our old GE dishwasher. But thats really a very minor nit to pick on an absolutely fantastic appliance. Hope it lasts a long time cause we really love this dishwasher!
What's great about it: Super Quiet
What's not so great: Rack design not the greatest for bowls~Bestbuy customer |
|This dishwasher has been an enormous disappointment and I will be contacting ABT regarding my options for the simple fact that it WILL NOT CLEAN. For example, I used my Cuisinart to make pesto the other day (it's an old-style one with the two-piece plunger). I have run this item through the dishwasher no less than five times, in different locations, different states of "openness" and using both different detergents and cycles. It is still not clean. My glassware have food deposits on them. You are only able to use every other row of tines positioned close together, or dishes will not clean. I experienced none of these issues with my Asko. Furthermore, there is a "plastic" odor (the bottom of the tub is plastic, not stainless steel) which has deposited itself on every plastic cup, glass and storage container I own. The odor has diminished, but remains -- even after nearly a month of usage (3-4 cycles per week). I expected more from Bosch. ~ABT customer |
|This is a quiet no frills machine that looks great. I am a contractor and put in a lot of dishwashers (I paid regular price)so I know they have a reputation for being reliable ~ABT customer |
|I am disappointed with this dishwasher. The dishes do not dry consistently.I was very surprised that there is no rinse cycle. I expected more from a Bosch dishwasher.

|Then there is the drying issue. All Bosch dishwashers use evaporative drying instead of a heating element. Customer service told me on the phone when I called after trying all their recommended fixes that they design their dishwashers with inadequate drying on purpose in order to make them quieter! However, they also told me the solution that works for us: Use Jet-Dry Turbo Dry instead of their regular product. The manual says Jet-Dry. The permanent stickers on the dishwasher say Jet-Dry. The sample included is Jet-Dry. They should make them all Jet-Dry Turbo Dry. No wonder Customer service says they get phone calls all day long about bad drying. One issue related to drying and capacity is that without a heating element, water that gathers on top of items will not dry. A partial solution is to position items so they lean a lot and prevent pooling. However, this is most of the cause of the capacity issue.

|Great dishwasher at a great price. Gets dishes squeaky clean. Plenty of features for what I need - You can set "Extra Dry Heat" cycle and set the amount of rinse agent. I use "Auto Wash" function with Extra Dry Heat off and it figures out cycle strength, wash time and amount of water on its own. Dishes are still hot to the touch when unloading a half hour after complete. It's quiet so I don't have to turn up the TV anymore when the dishwasher is going. ~Amazon customer |
|We purchased this dishwasher about 4 months ago and we have problems. Sometimes the soap never leaves the dispenser and the top rack is always dirty. I found that rinsed plates on the bottom will come clean as well as the silverware, but anything plastic will have a film of soap (if dispensed during cycle) or greasy film from other dishes. It probably is a water pressure issue, but that doesn't help us get dishes clean now. Maybe the manual should give a recommended spi for this machine to work properly. ~Amazon customer |
