NOISY!!! - do not buy!

Pros: pretty & sleek, logical layout and efficient racks.
Cons: Noisy! ...and not even a delayed timer.

I called the repair person due to the noise coming out of this unit. He said this was "normal" for the Asko models. He said Bosh or Miele have little lights to show you they are running. No need for a light on this unit.

Noisy and troublesome! NEW
by: Cathy

We purchased an Asko D5223 as part of a high end kitchen renovation in 2011. The salesperson swore that this Asko dishwasher was even better than our existing Bosch. Our criteria was stainless inside , very quiet and ability to accept wood panel front. Didn't think that we were asking for too much. The first time that we started it up, we could not believe the noise! It could be heard from the front door! The Asko repair person came out and indicated that the dishwasher was within Asko specs for noise. He suggested that we pull dishwasher out and wrap with insulation then apply weatherstripping around the crack between dishwasher and cabinet. We did apply the weatherstripping and it did help a little, but looked ridiculous. Then the latch jammed, another repair call. Now the Asko is spewing hot wet air into the cabinet cavity, causing our cupboards to warp. This dishwasher has caused me more frustration than ANY other appliance/equipment/animal in our home. I called our salesperson last week to say that I was done with this dishwasher. Hmmm. Out of warranty - of course! Blah. I will NEVER EVER buy another ASKO. The nearly $1,000 we spent on this dishwasher was a huge waste. Our Bosch replacement (for which we had to purchase and pay for removal/installation) arrives on Saturday. I plan to put the ASKO at the curb and let it be publicly shamed by any equipment that happens to pass by.

Asko D5223

We bought this top of the line dishwasher and payed a premium price I might add. After each use there is always water left at the bottom of the dishwasher where the little basket is that collects large food particles.

we do not use the dishwasher everyday so with this water sitting in the bottom like that the water becomes stagnant and the food particles decompose leaving an odor. I called Asko about this and was told by a customer representative this was normal to have water at the bottom.

I replied with the question "what if we leave for a week or so do we just leave the water to sit there?" She replied then to sopped it up with a rag or something. I think this is a defect in the machine. We have had other dishwashers and never had this problem. We paid a lot of money for what I thought would be a quality dishwasher but i am not impressed.
