Bosch SHE43M06UC

by Brenda
(Powell, TN)

We purchased our Bosch dishwasher at HH Gregg. I had been researching dishwashers for a few months and knew this was the one that I wanted. We found it on sale and bought it. We installed it ourselves (wasn't that difficult). I absolutely love it.

I have only had 2 things not come clean, and they were forks with something stuck on them. All of my other plates, pots, glasses and silverware have come clean. I do not pre-wash my dishes, and they usually sit in the dishwasher for about 3 days before I run it. I love the fact they there is no dry setting. What a power saver.

We use the Electrasol 3-in-1 tab and it does wonders. The machine is so quiet that I usually don't even realize it is on. My downstairs is a very open layout and my old dishwasher sounded like it was walking across the kitchen floor.

The ultimate test for us was my very skittish dog laying down in front of it while it was running. He is scared of the slightest noise and that didn't phase him at all. I highly recommend this dishwasher. I couldn't be happier with it and the way it cleans.

Bought a Bosch on 9/2/2010 because we loved our old one. Boy did we make a mistake!!! The appliance store is coming to remove it tomorrow. Main complaint: DIDN'T CLEAN THE DISHES. Stay away from this model.

Bosch SHE43P22UC 300 Sries Full Console Dishwasher - White

It stinks - literally ! The smell is nauseating, especially for a kitchen without a window.
It also does not dry the dishes or silverware. Everything plastic (which is most of the interior) is dripping wet when you open the door, unless you let everything sit for 10 hours.

The dishes, unless you have old fashioned lilliput dishes from your grandmother, do not fit well unless you put them over the spikes.

Dealing with Bosch is a nightmare, you can not even get a technical support person on the line to help you with a question. I tried to increase the heat for drying, as our heat in the building is only 120º.

I will tell everybody I know to not buy from Bosch. I have two friends who are stuck with the same miserable dishwasher and their comment is:"I hate it".

Having wasted $750.00(incl. inst.) from my Soc,Sec. income,

B.H.

Bosch SHE43P15UC 24" Evolution 500 Series Dishwasher

by Clark
(Roy, Utah)

I am disappointed in this dishwasher. I have had it for less than 1 year and am ready to replace it, even though it is still under warranty. I have had dishwashers for about 20 years and have not been dissatisfied before this.

The dishwasher is quiet and it does have a large capacity to handle big pots and pans, so I give them credit for that, but here are my main reasons for dislike:

1. Dishes do not come out dry. I have asked repair technicians why that is and they were unable to provide an answer. I called Bosch customer service and they asked me how long I leave the dishes in after the wash cycle is over. I explained that we typically wash the dishes at the end of the day before we go to bed. The customer service representative explained that the Bosch is a "condensation" dishwasher and in order to have the dishes dry, I would need to be there after the dishwasher finishes to promptly remove the dishes or to prop open the door to allow the condensation to escape in order to have dry dishes. Yes, I do use the Jet-Dry product and they still come out wet - especially plastics and metal pots. Not very convenient if I need to be there.

Our old dishwasher had a vent that would release the steam from the dishwasher at the end of the wash cycle and the dishes would come out dry - ready to be placed back on the shelf.

2. Wash cycle times are extremely long. The Auto-Wash function and the Regular Wash function take 171 minutes (almost 3 hours) to run. Just hope you don't have a lot of dishes that you want to wash or are in a hurry.

I don't recall how long the wash cycle on our old dishwasher was, but it was definately less than 3 hours.

3. Dishes have not been clean. This is only a recent problem. Typically, it has done a great job of cleaning the dishes, but lately, we have had to run the dishwasher twice to clean a single load, yes 6 hours. Hopefully, that problem has been fixed by the technician who recently came out.

I am puzzled why this dishwasher continues to get good reviews as it appears that mine is functioning as designed for the most part. I guess eco-friendly is more important than convenience for the consumer. If eco-friendly was the most important consideration I think washing the dishes by hand is the preferred method.

My replacement dishwasher will be one that actually cuts down on the work for me and is more convenient.

Bosch SHE43RF5UC

by 2Angry Bird
(Gaithersburg, MD)

We purchased Bosch SHE43RF5UC model from Lowe's 10 months ago. As soon as we started using it, we found out that it did not clean dishes well. Since it is still under warranty, we called for service three times. None of the repairmen was able to figure out what the problem is.

The only recommendation they could gave us was to try different dishwash detergents. We followed their recommendations, but the same problem persisted. We then called Lowe's customer service to file a claim with Bosch for a replacement or refund. Within 24 hours, a Customer Care supervisor from Lowe's called us back and informed us that our claim was denied by Bosch.

The reason was that although there were three service visits, no parts were replaced. Previously, we were told that in order to get a replacement or refund, we have to schedule three service visits. Now, the story changed. They said that at least one part must be replaced during each service visit in order to get Bosch to accept a return claim. Our advice is don't buy Bosch dishwasher.

Bosch SHE43P0 Stainless Steel 24 in. Built-In Dishwasher ENERGY STAR

This is a solidly built dishwasher. As long as the dishes are arranged so they are exposed to the sprayer that spins below the top or bottom rack, they get clean. The only time they have not gotten clean is if the food has been severely baked on or has grown some type of mold. The water always gets really hot, even if the water going into the dishwasher is cold.

Further, the dishes are completely dry within a couple of hours. Another great feature to this dishwasher is how little noise it produces while it is running. I have never been embarrassed to run it while I’ve had company over, because I know that it will not interfere with our conversation because it is so quiet.

Another feature that I’ve used several times is the ability to raise (or lower) the top rack. It will go up or down a couple of inches to make room for those really tall objects that need to go on the bottom rack.

The stainless steel front is not the easiest to clean. Something once dripped down the front of it, and even though I have tried stainless steel cleaner, I have yet to remove the line that was made many months ago and I‘ve tried multiple products.

The other problem that I’ve noticed is even though the water and drainage lines are attached as indicated in the drawing provided in the installation manual, unless you wash dishes every 1-2 days, a stench will perpetually worsen.

Pros
- This is a solidly built dishwasher
- Quiet
- It has the ability to lower the rack

Cons
- The stainless steel front is not the easiest to clean
- Even though the water and drainage lines are attached as indicated in the drawing provided in the installation manual, unless you wash dishes every 1-2 days, a stench will perpetually worsen

4 out of 5

The unit is definitely quiet and easily contains vibrations and noise inside the container. Another feature that instantly grabs attention is the EcoSense option which allows the dishwasher to run using 20 percent less energy than most models. Quality wash is also ensured with the NSF certificiation, eliminating bacteria from the dishes at each wash.

Delay time may also be set up to 19 hours and a remaining time option is visible on the multi-functioning LED. Another great thing about the SHE43P02UC is it's Half Load option, which may be used to accomodate small loads of dishware, perfectly at home for small kitchens. Comes with a Concealed Heating Element to prevent plastic from melting during wash.

Disadvantages

Most Bosch models comes with an automatic adjustable rack so the manual height adjustment rack isn't really top grade. Also, features like a hard food disposer and a tall item sprinkler are missing from this particular unit. Interior lights, crystal protection and water softener features are also lacking. Users have also complained that the model is unreliable and is hard to clean after using. Coming from reputable manufacturer, you are assured of its durability and efficiency. It is also safe and fairly easy to use.

Disadvantages

Though considered affordable by some consumers, this dishwasher from Bosch can still go over $800. The machine would have been worth the buy if only it had some of the convenient features such as the food disposer, water softener, and interior light.

SHE43MO6UC/50 24" Bosch Built-in Dishwasher

by Kathy
(Cincinnati OH)

After looking around, we bought our Bosch SHE43MO6UC/50 dishwasher at HHGregg three years ago for three reasons: the Bosch reputation, our friends said their Bosch dishwasher is super quiet, and it was the only dishwasher we could find in black.

What a terrible disappointment it's turned out to be!!

This dishwasher is supposed to be energy efficient, but the racks are so poorly laid out that we have to run more loads to clean the same number of dishes. Glasses wobble, the plates lean against one another so they come out unclean, and it's totally unclear what goes where (except for the utensil basket). After three years, we still haven't figured out how to maximize the available space. (Next time we purchase a dishwasher—and it won't be a Bosch—we'll take along a few dishes to see how well they fit.)

The dishes don't come out all that clean, either, so now we're buying a more costly Cascade product that's supposed to remove dried-on food——even though we rinse our dishes thoroughly before loading them (no dried on food).

It IS fairly quiet.

Bosch SHE43P05UC Evolution 300 Series 24 inch Full Console Dishwasher - Stainless Steel

In general, Bosch dishwashers are expected to be very reliable. They are designed to conserve both power and water. The SHE43P05UC 24" Evolution 300 Series dishwasher lives up to these standards. The glaring difference of this particular model to its predecessor is that it is being offered at a lower price.

Key features

- The SHE43P05UC dishwasher is Energy Star-certified/qualified, making it an eco-friendly option.
- At 52 dBA, it is virtually silent.
- The dishwasher has two pumps that reduce the noise and vibration of machine operation.
- It makes use of a triple filtration system.
- The dishwasher has a multifunction LED with remaining time display.
- It has a capacity of 14 place setting.
- The dishwasher also has 4 wash cycles and 2 options to choose from.
- It makes use of the OptiDry feature, which means that it dries the dishes fast enough.
- The dishwasher is highly programmable, operating at a scheduled time. The schedule can be set up to 19 hours in advance.
- It has a large upper rack to accommodate more dishes.
- The upper rack's height can be adjusted to accommodate taller pieces.
- It comes with the standard-sized silverware basket.
- This dishwasher model from Bosch has a stainless steel tall tub frame and interior.
- It makes use of the AquaStop Leak Protection feature.
- The dishwasher has a Quick Wash feature, which simply means it washes and cleans fast enough. This is best for dishes that are not heavily soiled.
- It makes use of the SaniDry Hygienic Condensation Drying feature, which ensures a hygienic drying process.
- The door has a child lock feature for safety.
- The dishwasher does not melt plastics with its concealed heating element.

Advantages

It seems that the SHE43P05UC dishwasher is a perfect fit for people who want high quality dishwashers at an affordable price. The model is almost a duplicate of the previous SHE43F15UC. The main difference, as mentioned earlier, is in the affordable price.

This dishwasher may be more affordable but it still has all the useful features for a clean wash. It is not only environment-friendly but it is also very efficient to use. It is safe for kids because of its child lock system. The racks can also be adjusted to fit different sizes and shapes of kitchenware. It is safe to use for plasticware, with a special heating element that prevents warping or melting of plastics.

Disadvantages

Despite the lure of the lower price and the multiple features, the Bosch SHE43P05UC operates at a slightly louder noise than the SHE43F15UC, its predecessor. It doesn't go beyond the standard. Others also said that the lower racks' sizes could still be improved to maximize the use of space.
