Bosch SHE4AM Dishwasher

The Bosch SHE4AM dishwasher is a pretty good dishwasher. It gets the dishes clean without having to rinse them spotless beforehand. It has a great many wonderful features. Its child safety feature is a terrific asset, especially with small children in the home.

If you enable this feature, the child can push the buttons and nothing will happen. It also has a time delay feature, which enables you to have the dishwasher start at a later time. This is nice if you do not want to be running the dishwasher while someone is taking a shower, or while a load of laundry is going in the washing machine.

This dishwasher also is VERY quiet. I have had numerous dishwashers over the years with the various places I have lived, and this Bosch dishwasher is by far the quietest one I have ever used. The silverware caddy has a nice feature as well. It has 2 "lids" that can be snapped closed so you can wash small items (such as baby bottle nipples, small utensils, etc.) with no worry that they will wind up all over the dishwasher during the cleaning.

Pros
- It runs very quietly.
- It gets the dishes clean the first time.(There's no need to rinse them thoroughly before loading the dishwasher.)

Cons
- The silverware caddy slides around a lot. It appears to be too small for the space provided (or the space is too big). Once the dishes are loaded, I find I am constantly having to push the caddy back into place.
- The bottom rack never stays on the track when I pull it out. I am constantly having to re-align it before pushing it back into the dishwasher.

Bosch SHE4AM12UC

Since the electronic broke before the 4 year anniversary and BOSCH does not cover labor I have to rate this product has sub-standard.

Why should we have to pay hundreds of dollars in labor for an appliance that cost 750$ less than 4 years ago? BOSCH does not live up to its name.

I absolutely hate this dishwasher. I had a Whirlpool before and loved it. This one not only does not wash good but you cannot advance the cycles and the electronic board is so fickle, half the time, it takes forever for the light to go to "active" to activate the cycles. Would not buy again.

Bosch Ascenta series SHE4AM15UC

by kaygood
(woodbridge, va)

My mother decided to get her house remodeled instead of selling it, so practically every room in the house is being rebuilt. Since I like to spend time in the kitchen I volunteered to be in charge of picking the new appliances. I went to a local home improvement retailer, and after speaking with several sales associates that ranted and raved about it, I settled on a Bosch dishwasher.

The model I chose (see ridiculously long title) looked great. It's stainless steel so it's very aesthetically pleasing. The inside is well organized, allowing for a decent amount of dishes to be washed at once, and the controls are fun and easy to use. Overall, it looks great, it reads great on paper, but it just doesn't stand up to the hype.

It doesn't matter that I can fit a million plates on the racks if I have to wash them three times to get them fully cleansed. It smells absolutely horrible and it doesn't even dry the dishes! Not only is it inconvenient, and frustrating to use, it's poorly constructed. We're currently working to get the water damage from the leaking interior cleaned up, and any day now the kitchen will cease to be a liability for visitors. It's a silent, quick, good looking machine, but it's not worth the nine hundred bucks I shelled out for it. However, I will say in Bosch's defense, maybe I just got a faulty machine.

bosch she4am12uc/01

Oh my Gosh!!! DON'T BUY IT, you will hate it. So many problems and the Bosch company was no help. I have never been more disappointed w/ a dishwasher or an appliance company. I have had this dishwaher for 2 years and it's one thing after another. The biggest being the dishes are filthy after completing a cycle in the dishwasher. I've tried everything. I am tossing it and going back to a Kenmore. Good luck!

BOSCH SHE4AM

OMG! Thank Goodness, I thought I was the only one who had the worst dishwasher in the world! DON'T BUY BOSCH! Doesn't clean your dishes. They come out dirtier than when they go in.

Now the water won't drain out of the bottom. Soap is everywhere, never leaves. I don't think water moves in it. Just wasted over a 1/2 hour trying to get through to Bosch Service Center/Customer Support. No one answered EVER, although the recording told me someone would be with me shortly. Dishwasher sucks!

Bosch Ascenta SHE4AM12UC 24 inch Undercounter Dishwasher - White

The Bosch SHE4AM12UC 24" Ascenta Evolution Dishwasher is a good choice for anyone who wants a machine that can do the basics without having to shell out loads of money to buy it. This is a great washing machine for the price and it can handle all of your basic dishwashing needs.

The main difference between this model and its bigger brothers is that this model simply has a few less features, but it sill has a solid set of features and functions to hold its own. If you're thinking of getting a new dishwasher, then read on to find out why the SHE4AM12UC may be a good choice.

Key features

- One of the best features of the SHE4AM12UC is that it is ENERGY STAR qualified. It is rated at 300 kwh per year, which is significantly less in comparison to machines that aren't ENERGY STAR qualified.
- You also get the EcoSense feature, which monitors your wash water for its soil level. Depending on the soil level, the dishwasher will automatically adjust your wash cycle to use less water and energy. This feature can save up to 20% of energy consumption.
- Some of the other handy efficiency features include the Flow Through Water Heater and half load option. The Flow Through heater channels 100% of the water through the heating chamber to heat water up quickly and more efficiently.
- The stainless steel interior and polypropylene base used in the SHE4AM12UC helps to improve durability, avoiding common problems like melting plastic or rust.
- This dishwasher can operate at a silence rating of 53 dBA, which is very low in comparison to some of the other products in the market. This is achieved by using a two-pump, suspension motor, and an insulated design.
- Some of the other great features of the Bosch SHE4AM12UC include four wash cycles,a delay start option, overflow protection, child lock, NSF certification, condensation drying, and a manually adjustable top rack.

Advantages

The biggest advantage of the SHE4AM12UC is that it is a relatively cheap dishwashing machine, considering the amount of features and functions packed into it. While the higher models in the Ascenta line may offer more cycles and functions, the SHE4AM12UC gives you most of those features at a fraction of the cost. Also, another huge advantage of the SHE4AM12UC is its efficiency, using up little water and energy while still able to get its job done well.

Disadvantages

One of the biggest complaints about the Bosch SHE4AM12UC is its silverware basket, which is so small that some consumers report having to run more cycles just to get all their silverware washed.

Also, the basket is located in an inconvenient spot. Another disadvantage of this product is that it has been discontinued by Bosch. Because of this, consumers may have a hard time finding information and getting after-market services for the product.

Consumer likes and dislikes

Pros

- Good value for the price
- Effective and efficient at washing dishes
- Quiet operation levels
- Works well on the quick wash cycle

Cons

- Poor placement and small silverware basket
- Discontinued model
