Whirlpool QuietPartner III

Bought new when our new home was build 3 1/2 years ago. Seemed to work ok until last week, when the dishwasher was draining, we heard this loud noise, like a race-car. Repairman said the pump housing was eaten up.

Tried to find the replacement unit and it is not available anywhere in the US. Even if he could find it, the price was $405. Forget it, I'll get a new machine, but not Whirlpool, I bought a Bosch. They aren't getting my money, the machine goes bad, and they don't make parts for it anymore after 3 years.

I am highly disappointed in the Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner III, the motor and heating coil burned up after just 5 years of use! My husband and I bought the "higher" quality thinking it would last at least 10 to 15 years. Too bad I didn't know about this site before we bought our dishwasher.

We built a house a couple of years ago and purchased all new appliances (all whirlpool) from Lowe's for our home. I loved the fact that this dishwasher had the characteristic of being "quiet".

You see all of those commercials where you can't even hear the dishwasher working and then bam, the dishes are clean. This was a great dishwasher for about 6 months. Of course, it wasn't as "quiet" as I had hoped, but that was something I could have lived with.

After about 6 months it started leaving "dried residue" (not sure if it was clumps of soap, etc) on the insides of some of the cups. At first, I thought I would just run them through another cycle.

I could have ran them through 30 cycles and that stuff wouldn't come off! It doesn't leave new residue after each cycle and I have tried powder, tabs and liquid soap. It seems to pick and choose when it is going to clean and how well it is going to clean.

My cousin just built a house and they were looking to buy all new whirlpool appliances like ours as well. I told her I wouldn't go with this model just because of my experience. She took my advice and went with a different model. I hope she has better luck than I did!

we've had this unit for less than 6 years, and have already had the electronics control panel fail twice exactly the same way.

at over a hundred dollars for the parts plus about the same to have it installed, this is not a machine I'd recommend. It does do a good job. dishes were always very clean. but it has proven not as reliable as our previous unit. a moffat we had for 15 years with no problem at all.
