Whirlpool Gold dishwasher

by Rachael
(Brighton, CO USA)

My dishwasher actually came with the house we purchased a year ago. I was a bit skeptical about the dishwasher, as the previous owners of the house seemed to skimp on their appliances for the most part.

However, I was pleasantly surprised at how well my dishwasher works. It has two rotating sprayer heads so the top rack and the bottom rack both get rinsed very well.

It has a super capacity for dishes, and with a family of four, I only have to run the dishwasher every other day. I cook three meals a day, so the size of the dishwasher and the fact that I can get two days worth of dishes into it is very important.

The utensil rack is inside the door, so it doesn't take up valuable space inside the bottom rack of the washer, giving me even more capacity.

It does not leave gritty bits of food inside my glasses like some of the previous dishwashers I had (GE Hotpoint, I believe, was the model of dishwasher we had previously).

It has several different wash options, as well, including light, heavy, pots and pans, and rinse only. It also has a delay wash option, as well as an automatic dry cycle, which does thoroughly dry my dishes.

It also has an air dry option, which is more energy efficient. It is quiet to operate, and is considered Energy Star qualified.

The door automatically goes into the locked position once the door is closed, so there is no latch that could accidentally break.

To open, you press in a button underneath the handle, and the door opens effortlessly. I would recommend this dishwasher to anybody in the market for a new one. In researching my dishwasher for parts, I found it is reasonably priced, at around $500 brand new, and it does a superb job cleaning my dishes.

Pre-washing or pre-rinsing helps, but is not necessary to get my dishes cleaned. And I have never once needed to add Jet Dry to my dishwasher to be sure the glasses would come out clean. They always do.

I highly recommend my Whirlpool Gold.
