Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner 3, GU2451XTSS2

by Deidre
(Lynbrook, NY, USA)

I recently purchased the Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner 3, and have to say I am very satisfied with this purchase. It offers six different types of washes from adaptive wash to rinse only. It also has extra options whether it be scour and soak or just a standard rinse. It has high temperature drying.

Two of the best qualities I find the most important is (a). it is completely quiet. You really do not hear a peep from it and (b). The utensil tray. To me the best cleaning for your flatware plus room saving is when the utensil tray is hooked upright on to the door as this model has.

I had the other ones where the utensil basket was in the main basket and I found that that took up way too much space.

Another important factor about this particular dishwasher is the timing. You are able to set a timer for it to go off at any hour, which works out great if you prefer to do your dishwashing while you are asleep.

If you forgot to add a dish or cup and you want to add it you just have to open the door and everything pauses. Then you shut the door and it all resumes. The timer is digital and big enough for you to just pass by and see how many more minutes are left. I definitely recommend this model to anybody who likes all the whistle and bells.

Top Rack corroded NEW
by: Anonymous

my Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner 3 top dishrack has now started to corrode after about 5 years, the roller wheel on the right side of the top rack corroded off- a new rack (just the rack) costs between $140-175 bucks- my choices are to purchase the part or try to repair it with some kind of make shift part or buy a new dishwasher. everything else works fine. crazy price for this rack.

no lights or power NEW
by: Anonymous

for the last two months our whirlpool gold dishwasher has not worked. all the lights on the front of the machine went out and the unit acts like it doesnt have any power. A few days later all the lights will come back on and I try to start the machine and everything will go out again. Any ideas; our machine is about years old

quiet partner 3 NEW
by: Arizona

Like many others with the quiet partner 3, it worked well for nearly 3 years and then became the NOT so quiet partner 3. For the money I paid for this unit I'm very disappointed. I'll be removing it and attempting to repair it myself, but on further inspection the racks are corroding so it may be just as well to move on to another brand.

Not Reliable NEW
by: Roy Hori

Our Whirlpool came with the new house. I like the way it loads and it was quiet at first. But, with time it progressively got noisier. A repairman, who there for a different appliance, listened to it at 3 years and said the pump was going but said to use till it broke. It did at 4 years. The Gold series is among Whirlpools higher grade appliances. It should not fail in 4 years. We are in the process of replacing it, possibly with a Bosch. I cannot recommend this appliance.

how to load NEW
by: Anonymous

Have had this unit four about 5 years now, everything works great, only thing you need to know is the lower washer arm is on an angle so if you load large dinner dishes on the side where the washer/sprayer arm is angled lowest, the arm will stop when it hits the large dishes, this is probably the reason why people find that their dishes do not seem clean, this can be prevented by loading your large dishes on the left hand side.

What a piece of garbage NEW
by: Ron Svanes

Terrible dishwasher. I replaced a 20 year old dishwasher with this and I wish I had kept the old one. This dishwasher has never worked well, even on the pots and pans setting many of the dishes still have crud on them. I have had this unit for 16 months now. After 14 months (just off warranty) the wash pump would no longer work. After spending $200 + labor to put in a new motor and pump I was hoping for a better wash. There is no change - what a piece of garbage - do not buy!
