Whirlpool model: GU2300XTSB

I purchased this dishwasher a few years ago. I wish I had made a better choice. This dishwasher has been nothing but one headache after another. My first complaint that I had the moment it was installed is that it is loud! Another complaint is that the top basket does not accommodate tall glasses at all.

One of the weirdest things about this dishwasher is that the inside of the door stains really easy. This dishwasher's door seal also became faulty fairly quickly. It became brittle in spots. As a result the dishwasher leaks quite frequently. This dishwasher is its own entity. It has a mind of its own. When prompted to run a cycle, it will run sometimes and just sit and do nothing other times.

However, I do like the ease of removal of the silverware tray and the settings that are offered with this model.

While the placement prongs in the baskets bend too easy, this can also be of benefit, as it makes it easier to fit the things you want into your baskets. As far as the dishwashing job this model does, I am very pleased with how clean my dishes and silverware turn out.

Overall I would probably do my research and steer clear of this whirlpool model.

A must have for a large family. NEW
by: Suzanne

This dishwasher is great! We just bought new appliances a few months ago and this dishwasher is much quieter than our previous model. I have not had a problem with food sticking to the dishes since there are so many jets, though I suppose that may be associated with the detergent as well.

There are many settings, and the hot rinse is good to just rinse a small load that you are not ready to clean yet.

This is defiantly worth the money and it seems more energy efficient than my previous model as my water bill has gone down slightly. I like the cutlery basket as it is placed in a way which does not take up too much extra space.

I am able to put my cutting board and other tall things in the dishwasher without it getting stuck up in the top. This is definitely a good buy for a large family as it holds a lot.

We have this in black to match our kitchen but it also come in white and stainless steel.

I would recommend this unit to anyone who is looking to upgrade from their current model.

I would consider other brands next time I bought a dishwasher. NEW
by: Bruce Knoll

I'm not at all happy with this dishwasher. I recently purchased this to replace an old Whirlpool which had failed (it was leaking through the soap dispenser into the door). The old dishwasher worked pretty well, but the new one simply doesn't get the dishes as clean. I always use the pots and pans setting, even though I rarely put pots and pans in the dishwasher, and still I often take out items that are not clean. This seems especially to be the case with plastic items in the top tray. But worse is the cleaning on sliverware. The GU2300XTSB0 uses individual slots for silverware as an option, and one almost has to use this--if the silverware is placed in the other parts of the silverware tray (non-slotted), any two pieces which touch each other trap food which then sticks to the silverware. It seems that the water/soap mixture sprayed from this dishwasher is not as strong as it was in previous models.
